Some weekends leave you with more than a new certification.

I came home from Nashville feeling incredibly grateful—and reflective about how much this career has shaped me along the way.

Almost two decades in, and I’m still finding new layers of purpose in work I thought I already knew so well.

This weekend at the AHLC in Nashville, I became an **Bauman Certified Hair Coach**, surrounded by people whose knowledge reminds me just how much there will always be to learn. There’s something incredibly humbling about sitting in rooms like that—and equally exciting about knowing I get to bring that knowledge home and use it to help someone else.

I’m grateful for my husband who simply said, **“You need to GO.”** For my Notch + Mill team who cared for our guests while I was away. For @jenhastings_hair, who drove five hours, planned our adventure and made the weekend one I’ll always remember. My new friends from @thenediamn & for @trichoedu, @tabithafhair, @hollystrack, @kimestry2009, @dralanbauman and the entire @baumaninstitute team who continue to pour so much into this community.

On the way home, we stopped at Shawnee to see the Garden of the Gods, and I found myself staring at the patterns carved into the rock.

Water. Time. Movement. Persistence.

None of it happened quickly, but little by little, the landscape changed.

I think life and growth can be a lot like that.

Every person who believes in you. Every room you walk into feeling a little intimidated. Every opportunity you say yes to. Every lesson, detour and season leaves its mark.

And eventually, you look back and realize those little ripples were shaping you all along.

Feeling very grateful for where the current has taken me—and really excited to see where it goes next. 🤍

Passion looks different in every artist—but you can feel it in the work they create. ✨

At Eden Studios, passion is more than loving what you do. It’s the excitement to keep learning, the commitment to continually grow, and the desire to become better at your craft.

It’s the hairstylist who is always learning a new technique.

The massage therapist who continues to deepen their knowledge of the body.

The skincare professional who stays curious about new treatments, ingredients, and techniques.

The artist who never stops asking, “How can I make this even better?”

Our artists are passionate about their mediums, but they’re also passionate about **you**—your experience, your confidence, and helping you feel your very best.

Because when you’re surrounded by people who genuinely love what they do, that passion becomes part of the experience. 🤍

That’s Passion at Eden Studios.

Repost from @hollystrack

Hair washing isn’t really about your hair... it’s about your scalp.

Your scalp is living tissue. It’s where your hair follicles exist and where healthy hair growth begins.

When buildup from oil, products, sweat, and environmental debris accumulates, it can lead to:
• Inflammation
• Irritation
• Disruption in the hair growth cycle
• Weaker, duller strands

If your scalp isn’t functioning well, your hair won’t either. A clean scalp creates the foundation for stronger, healthier hair.

Micro Things

Check out my new @optikaitaly B383pli Infinity Corrected compound microscope. I am thrilled with it so far and have already invested in some meaningful upgrades coming soon.

Overall, I think it's a beautiful, well built microscope with some shortcomings I was a little disappointed in. The big one being no Field Diaphragm or filter tray. For true Kohler as well as getting the absolute best illumination a field diaphragm goes under the condenser and I was a little surprised it wasn't included considering the cost. It works perfectly fine without it but it just feels like a cost cutting measure that kinda defeats the purpose of an infinity corrected microscope (no filter tray or anywhere to add anything in between the light source, the entire point of infinity correction). That's just me being nit picky though either way.

It's a beautiful microscope I'm thrilled to have and can't wait to show you more amazing hair science, trichology and cosmetic chemistry science with this new tool. If you have a chance, check out my GoFundMe in my linktree. I am doing this all fully invested myself and your help means I can keep doing this for the hair community as well as our guests keeping these companies accountable that their products work and do what they say they do. Thanks y'all ✌️💜🤘

I’m still riding a high from this weekend.

A whole room of professionals who didn’t have to be there. Already confident at what they do. Already busy. Already making a difference.

They showed up anyway to go deeper into something that honestly takes a lifetime to master.

You could feel it the second you walked in. That quiet kind of serious. Heads down, notes filling up, somebody asking real & thought provoking questions. The questions that inspire you to dig harder.

People who came to actually do the work.

There’s something about standing in a room like that. Everyone reaching for the same thing, nobody looking for the easy version of it. This world is full of shortcuts, this room was full of the stillness real results take.

I am full of gratitude to find myself in a room like that, determined to practice, and humbled by it all.

Day 3 ✨🔬

Today we took the microscope apart literally and figuratively.

From understanding the science behind polarized light microscopy to mastering the instrument itself, participants gained a deeper appreciation for how hair fibers tell the story of health, nutrition, digestion, environmental exposure, and scalp function.

Today wasn’t just about earning a certificate it was about earning your wings. 🪽

Congratulations to this incredible group for completing the training and embracing a new way of seeing hair science through the lens of polarized microscopy.

"As a certified trichologist, I am very selective about the products I recommend to my hair loss recovery clients. BIO BALANCE by LOCKrx has become a valuable part of my protocol for individuals incorporating at-home LLLT therapy devices into their regimen. BIO BALANCE can be applied prior to LED/laser treatments or after shampooing to help support scalp integrity, maintain optimal moisture balance, and promote an environment conducive to healthy hair growth. What I appreciate most, from a clinical standpoint, is that it is lightweight, non-greasy, and easy for clients to integrate into their daily routine—supporting consistency, which is essential for successful outcomes." – Holly Strack, Trichologist, Edina, MN

It’s been 2 weeks and I’m still processing the amazing opportunity this was. This group of people so inspirational, so educational, some of the best in the industry, such a wonderful community to be a part of. I went to Boca a little nervous and very intimidated. I came home so confident in myself and my knowledge and with such gratitude to be amongst this group! Thank you @trichoedu for creating something so special 💕

Second opinions aren’t a sign of uncertainty — they’re a sign that you take this career seriously.

In trichology, nothing is ever truly straightforward. Systems overlap. Symptoms evolve. What looks like one primary issue on the surface is often two or three working underneath it. And when you’re deep in a case, close to the details, it’s easy to miss the pattern that’s hiding in plain sight.

That’s not inexperience. That’s just how complex this field is.

The trichologists who get the best outcomes aren’t the ones who know the most — they’re the ones who’ve trained their clinical eye to see the patterns faster. And that skill doesn’t come from googling at midnight or posting in a Facebook group hoping someone has a similar case.

It comes from sitting with experienced trichologists who can walk you through their reasoning in real time.

That’s what every 1:1 case review inside Rooted Trichology Collective is designed to do. We’re not just solving the case in front of you — we’re showing you how we got there. The pattern recognition. The clinical reasoning. The connections between systems that aren’t obvious until you’ve seen them enough times.

So the next time a case like it walks through your door, you see it yourself.
That’s what builds confident trichologists. And confident trichologists build practices that get results people talk about. 🌿

One of the biggest struggles I’ve seen in trichology is that we’re supposed to know everything.

But the truth is — this field is broad.

Hormones. Stress. Gut health. Genetics. Bloodwork. Nutrition. Holistic. Medical.

No single trichologist can specialize in every area. And that doesn’t make you less capable — it makes collaboration essential.

Some cases lean more hormonal.
Some are rooted in inflammation or lifestyle.
Others require a deeper understanding of pattern loss or genetics.
That’s why having a community matters. Not to replace your expertise — but to complement it.

Inside the Rooted Trichology Collective, we lean on each other’s strengths, perspectives, and experience so no one has to carry every specialty alone.

Because confidence doesn’t come from knowing everything —
it comes from knowing where to turn for support. 🌱
