![☀️🙌🏾 AQTJB wooosher number-we’ve-lost-count is Holly Mason!!
“I’m a photographer based between Edinburgh and London. This image, [the work in the show] ‘Renaissance Jamaica’ is a favourite of mine and is part of a larger series titled 'The Emerald Isle'. Something that I think about a lot as an aspect of video/still photography is the notion of time. What I love about this image, is that I feel as though it transcends time. It appears to me as though it could have been taken a century or so ago, but it was taken in 2018. This opened up a wider interest and internal dialogue within myself about the realities of this scene appearing this way, regarding the societal and economic hindrances on more rural locations in Jamaica, who may have been impacted more from the end of the colonial era and separation from the commonwealth.”
To see some of this beautiful photography for yourself you can follow Holly on insta @hol.mas - or you can now come see her work up on the wall at wooosh!🙌🏾☀️
