Thuy-Han Nguyen-Chi & Andrew Yong Hoon Lee The light comes in the name of the voice (movement II), 2026 Steel pipes spread through the exhibition space like roots, carrying hushed voices that invite visitors to listen closely. In their 3-channel sound installation, artists Thuy-Han Nguyen-Chi @hannguyenchi and Andrew Yong Hoon Lee @holyhum bring forward voices that have been silenced. Developed from Nguyen-Chi’s conversation with a former prisoner of consience, the work translates experiences of confinement and enforced silence into a spatial and sonic encounter. Inspired by how inmates used sewage pipes to communicate across prison cells, the installation reimagines these hidden networks of connection. Voices emerge through the pipes, including excerpts from the letters of Rosa Luxemburg, who reflected on the sounds she heard through the walls of her prison cell. The result is a polyphonic meditation on confinement, resistance, and the ways sound and language can cross physical and political boundaries. ✉️ The installation is on view until 07.11.2026 as part of the exhibition “Subterranean” curated by Aditi Kapoor @aditi_______kapoor and Sarah Johanna Theurer @sarahjohanna.t at Kunstraum Niederoesterreich. Opening hours Tue – Fri, 11 – 7pm Sat, 11 – 3pm Installationsviews ©️ Kunstraum Niederoesterreich – Markus Gradwohl

On Thu, 10.09.2026, we celebrated the opening of our new exhibition! 🪐 Co-Curated by Aditi Kapoor @aditi_______kapoor & Sarah Johanna Theurer @sarahjohanna.t , “Subterranean” turns its attention to vestiges of physical and emotional labor, revealing the exertion absorbed into the economic, technological, and social systems that organize contemporary life. Artists Joyce Joumaa @joycejoumaa , Ghislaine Leung, Thuy-Han Nguyen-Chi @hannguyenchi & Andrew Yong Hoon Lee @holyhum , Valentin Noujaïm @vnoujaim , and Marina Xenofontos @afictionalastronaut examine the conditions that structure everyday life, attending to the underlying relations of labor, value, and power that these systems simultaneously produce and obscure. ☁️ The show is now on view at Kunstraum Niederoesterreich until 07.11.2026. You can always find information about our diverse Art Mediation Program on our website. See you soon! 🩶 Photos ©️ @eselat eSeL.at - Sarah Tasha @iamsarahtasha Videos ©️ Kunstraum Niederoesterreich

Opening tomorrow, Nizhonniya Austin’s solo presentation, “Trying to be Alaska” with a preformance by Andrew Yong Hoon Lee at 7:30 pm! Drawn from memories of the artist’s childhood home, from which the exhibition takes its title, these works return to the geological and familial formations that shape her understanding of place. Beneath her painting’s exuberant formal invention lies a distinctly kincentric worldview, in which land, animal, ancestor, weather, and bodily presence are understood as mutually constitutive discrete domains. @nizhonniyaaustin @holyhum

@holyhum again and again This summer was full of reflections as I travelled back to Vancouver for a dear friend’s wedding. I first met them at one of Andrew’s concerts nearly ten years ago. A strange little circle, then, to see his name appear in my inbox while we were both briefly back on the coast We met by the water at twilight and made these. @patrickmenard_ kept us humble @cat_hodgson for being part of the lore
