This week, we had the privilege of witnessing the final moments of a truly extraordinary journey. 🏁🇲🇹

After covering 2,755 km from London to Malta, crossing through France, Switzerland, and Italy, Zachary Vella and his team finally reached the finish line at YMCA Malta with one clear mission: to raise funds and help build homes for those who need them most.

A journey through mountains, cities, rain, and snow; and although much of the challenge was completed alongside his team, there were several moments where Zach faced it completely alone.

Thanks to this incredible effort, €157,000 were raised for this meaningful cause.

Beyond the beautiful cause itself, what inspires us most is the resilience, physical endurance, mental strength, and above all, the determination it takes to keep moving forward day after day, regardless of the conditions.

That’s why, at Bracket, we are proud to have supported this journey from its very beginning in London all the way to its final arrival in Malta. Watching an entire community come together for something so meaningful was truly unforgettable.

Huge respect to Zach and everyone who made this inspiring achievement possible. ❤️

Zach Vella has raised an incredible €157,000 for YMCA Malta. 🇲🇹

The fundraiser surpassed its original target after an extra €11,000 was raised even after the endurance challenge had ended.

Vella travelled thousands of kilometres across several countries, facing harsh weather and tough terrain along the way.

The funds will help YMCA Malta expand its services for vulnerable people, including its Drop-In Centre and a Stage 2 semi-independent living apartment.

At Welbee’s Supermarket, we are proud to support initiatives that make a real difference within our community 💚

Congratulations to Zach Vella on completing the incredible “Miles From Home” challenge in support of YMCA Malta through his mission, Home Bound — an inspiring 2,755km journey from London to Malta completed over 51 consecutive days.

Founded by Zach Vella, Home Bound combines the power of movement with the urgency of supporting people experiencing homelessness, turning every kilometre into a call for change and every finish line into a new beginning.

The campaign successfully raised over €145,000 to support YMCA Malta services for individuals experiencing homelessness — an achievement driven by determination, resilience, and community spirit. 👏

We are honoured to have played a small part in supporting such an important cause alongside the many organisations and individuals involved.

Well done Zach and the entire Home Bound team ❤️

After completing his extraordinary 2,755km run from London to Malta, Maltese endurance runner Zach Vella was welcomed by a huge crowd of supporters as he arrived at YMCA Malta’s offices in Valletta.

Speaking to the fans, friends and family who gathered to celebrate his remarkable achievement, Vella thanked everyone who supported him throughout the 51-day challenge.

Vella averaged an incredible 55km per day, crossing France, Switzerland and Italy before making the final leg to Malta by catamaran from Sicily.

His emotional arrival marked the end of a challenge that raised over €145,000 for YMCA Malta’s work supporting people experiencing homelessness. The funds will help expand the organisation’s drop-in centre and complete a semi-independent apartment that will house six people transitioning out of homelessness.

YMCA Malta CEO Anthony Camilleri praised the achievement, saying Zach’s effort had not only raised vital funds but also shone a national spotlight on homelessness in Malta.

The celebration at YMCA’s Valletta offices ended with applause and emotional embraces as supporters recognised the scale of what Vella had accomplished.

Two thousand seven hundred kilometers in fifty-one days 🤯 From London, across the continent and all the way to Malta. That’s around 60 kilometers per day! 🤯 Not for himself. Not for personal glory, but to raise funds and awareness on the ever-growing issue of homelessness in Malta.

@zachov proves that humans can do extraordinary things and that altruism is not a thing of the past. His superhuman efforts helped raise a lottery pot for @ymca_malta through @homebound.mt

This was his emotional finishing line moment in Valletta. Our hearts soared.
