Me and @daddydobyns shot this back in April before I knew I’d being doing this show with @homefiregallery which is TONIGHT so come on out to 4034 MacArthur ave from 6-9 and we can discuss art, scary movies and how elegantly I touch sand and let it slip through my hand.

Two years on MacArthur.

This space has become an anchor, a hub for creativity, a nexus of chaos. From tiny laughs and inside jokes (cue the hiccups) to time with friends, family and neighbors, being here has been special. Thank you to those that have helped build, those that have stuck around, those that have come and gone and those that have walked in to ask “what is this place”. Community is what makes this place tick and without you all we wouldn’t be here.

So many interesting works still on display at @homefiregallery. They teamed up with @timberpizzaco_rva and @trailheadcreative to host this successful fundraiser for @rvacommunityfridges! Fantastic well blistered crust from @timberpizzaco_rva the Green Monster was delightfully verdant and the zucchini was not too wet or weird. Great summer pizza Well done, boys!

“A Pizza Art” at Home Fire Gallery! 🔥

Really grateful to be part of such a fun and creative group show. We were given pizza boxes as our canvas and the freedom to take the idea wherever we wanted.

The show benefits @rvacommunityfridges , with 10% of proceeds going toward their work helping fight food insecurity in our community. It was dope being able to create art while also supporting something that gives back to Richmond.
Huge thank you to @homefiregallery (@bigjimsbaitshop @rva_rob )for putting this together, RVA Community Fridges for the work they do, and everyone who came out and supported the artists and the show. 🍕🎨 S/o @timberpizzaco_rva for throwing down as well and providing the goods 🍕

“A Pizza Art” was one of the coolest pop up galleries I’ve been to in Richmond - the creativity from these artists was mind blowing 🤯

@timberpizzaco_rva was working hard slinging pizza from their mobile woodfired pizza oven all evening, donating 100% of their proceeds to @rvacommunityfridges 🥹🫶

This certainly took Friday night pizza night to the next level!! Great event @homefiregallery 🔥 I love Richmond so much ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

𝓨𝓮𝓼, 𝓒𝓱𝓮𝓯!

My piece for “A Pizza Art” at @homefiregallery !! This piece is made from two pizza boxes painted with gouache :-)

“Yes, Chef!” critiques and pokes fun at male gender roles and submission in the context of a commercial kitchen. Why is it that cooking is seen as a woman’s job when it’s in the domestic sphere, but a man’s job when it’s in a professional context? Why is cooking seen as a natural extent of women’s presumed nurturing nature, but male chefs spend all day yelling at each other? In what ways do men in male dominated spaces talk to re-affirm their manhood and heterosexuality, while also sexualizing and asserting dominance over other men? This piece explores these questions and how I fit into them as an artist, a cook, and a transgender man.

Today is the day for pizza! “A Pizza Art” begins tonight at 6:00 p.m. at @homefiregallery in 4034 MacArthur Avenue. There will be ‘za for consumption by @timberpizzaco that 100% of goes to RVA Community Fridges.

It is absolutely humbling to see my name with the artists involved in this show! It’s pretty surreal, especially the part where I’m proud of my work and the cause that it goes to. 10% of the artwork profits go to our amazing @rvacommunityfridges in order to help the food insecure in our communities. ❤️
