Another successful season and a sunny Buttwhackers party in the books! Huge thanks to everyone who came out, supported our harbor community, kept us fed all summer, sent us fish to cut, and repped the Whackerwear! This community makes the grind fun and keeps us going year after year. 🫶🏼🐟

Had a good time yesterday with @homeroceancharters Captain Aiden and deckhand Cole. We had to switch up our plan to chase giant halibut and rockfish on a long range trip due to the weather forecast but they still got us on some halibut, Pacific cod, and a few spiny dogfish where the waters were a little more tame. They made sure everyone had a blast and all ten clients ended up with limits of halibut. @homerfishprocessing had our fillets cleaned up, portioned, vacuum sealed, and boxed for transport at a deal of a price! Great outfits to deal with and @moosetidehotel was an excellent place to stay right there in town close to the spit! @aftco #afaw #aftcopro

So many fish, long days, and the best crew in the game. 😮‍💨

July gave us healthy racks, a leftie (!!!), calico butts, sockeye limits, and sea otters that claimed Ramp 1 as their personal lounge. 🦦 Grateful for the grind and the people alongside us.

Bring on August. 👊

THIS is what summer in Alaska is supposed to feel like!! Our annual week-long Homer stay-cation recap: Seldovia, ocean swims, beach dinner, Argo rides to the cabin, dip-netting in China Poot, halibut fishing, bought a dirt bike on a whim for the kids, and somehow pulled off a lil surprise 70th birthday for my dad without him suspecting a thing 🤭 Throw in a lot of laughs + cocktails with our people + that’s a week of summer we won’t forget 🛳️🎣🍻🐙

Part 1 of our Alaska trip – June 2026

Once we flew into Anchorage, we started the next morning with breakfast at a classic Alaskan diner. It was pretty tasty, and I even got to try reindeer sausage for the first time!

We flew into Alaska a few days before the church rendezvous, so we headed down to Seward for a whale-watching excursion before making our way back to Palmer. Getting to watch the whales and see sea otters, puffins, sea lions, and all the other wildlife was something I’ll never forget. Then watching a glacier calve—huge chunks of ice crashing into the water—was incredible. Standing there surrounded by those mountains and God’s creation just reminds you how big He is and how small we are. Pictures don’t even come close to doing it justice.

After Seward, we headed back to Palmer for the church rendezvous. The kids were so excited to see their friends again. They got to play, we got to catch up with folks we hadn’t seen in a while, enjoy the local parade, and spend time together in fellowship.

Another highlight was heading to Homer for a fishing charter. Catching fish was a blast, but honestly, the thing that impressed me the most wasn’t even the fishing. Looking out across the water and seeing snow-covered mountains and volcanoes in the distance was breathtaking. Every mile we traveled was different, but they all pointed back to the same thing—God’s handiwork. His creation is far more beautiful than any picture or video could ever capture.

Looking back on this first part of our trip, my heart is full. I’m so grateful we were able to make it to the 2026 Alaska church rendezvous with Kendra , thankful we was able to assemble with friends we don’t get to see very often, and make memories that we’ll cherish for years to come. From the fellowship to the wildlife, the glaciers, the mountains, and the volcanoes, everywhere we turned it felt like God was showing off His handiwork.

So many more memories to share… Part 2 coming soon!

The crew at @homerfishprocessing does not stop! That doesn’t prevent them from supporting their fellow local businesses while they serve the fleet, community and visitors of Homer. Our clients at @fishthe49th are always amazed that they can bring home their catches same or next day. Add to that experience the concierge service of at slip pick up… amazing!! Even through that Flex, Kevin, and the guys took the time to learn about us. They heard I was building Fizz and promised to come see me when I opened. They did and they continue to do that. Thank you from the bottom of my fizzy heart! 🥤🧡
