Jam on it is back on friday the 16th of October! This time in collaboration with the wonderful @raumutrecht. This time around, we will kick things off with a lecture by our musical professor @igo.djing ! After that, be sure to get down to his selection and do some boogie down dancing! 😍 19:00 - 20:00 LECTURE 'Modern Day Clubs' 🎛️ One hour. One decade. The technology behind the birth of modern club culture. How was disco born? How did beatmatching become an art? And how did the modern club as we know it come to life? Social, musical, and technological advancements came together to create one of the most defining decades in modern music history: the 1970s. In this one-hour journey, we’ll focus on the technological innovations that helped make this revolution possible — from slipmats and 12-inch records to the humble beginnings of DJ culture, from the old Rosie to the legendary Technics SL-1200. A story of music, machines, and the people who pushed both forward 💿⏭️ 20:00 - 21:00 DANCE JAM 💃 One hour dance Jam with tunes by iGO. Get down to the funky selection of our resident DJ @igo.djing 📍 Adress: @raumutrecht Berlijnplein 530, Utrecht Please be there 18:45 so we can start the lecture at 1900 sharp🙏🏼 Get ready for some knowledge and jamming on the 16th of October! 🧠🤯🕺🏼 📷: @sidequest.angie #raumutrecht #musicknowledge #musicallecture #musicology #leidscherijn

The most Dutch party you've never seen. 🚲🔊 What happens when you put a sound system on bikes and take the dance floor to the streets? Here's a recap of our collaboration with @bankrabike, where music rolled through the city, strangers started dancing, and ordinary streets turned into a party. Huge shoutout to our amazing videographer @marijn.mannien, our talented photographer and DJ @sidequest.angie, our resident DJ @igo.djing, and our host @miss_sunshine_fleur. And of course, thank you to everyone who rode with us, danced with us, stopped to watch, or simply caught the vibe. Big love to everyone at @bankrabike for leading the ride, keeping everything rolling, fixing things on the go, and making this possible. This definitely won't be the last one. We're already looking forward to bringing the bikes, bass and dance floor back to the streets. Until then, save the date: September 4 🗓️ We'll be back at @raumutrecht with a new Jam On It edition, including a musical lecture by @igo.djing #streetculture #streetjam #BikeParty #UtrechtEvents #dutchcycling

Another reminder! On the 4th of july, Jam On It teams up with @bankrabike System for a special edition: a moving streetjam through the streets of Utrecht! Some of the beautiful dance styles we practice today were born in the streets. People would gather on sidewalks, in parks, and on street corners to share music, dance, and community. This is our way for bringing it back to those roots, all while inspiring others to join in the fun! We'll travel through Utrecht, dancing from park to park and bringing the vibe to the streets. Schedule: ▶️ Majella park (13:00, BE ON TIME!) ⏸️ Noorder park ⏹️ Griftpark >>> Swipe for more info >>> During the streetjam we'll dance and connect to the sounds of @igo.djing and @sidequest.angie We'll finish the day with a longer session and a cozy potluck at Griftpark, so feel free to bring some food and drinks to share 🍖🥗🍇 Are you ready to dance your heart out in the streets? To inspire others through movement and show that dance is a powerful form of self-expression that everyone should feel free to embrace?! Tell a friend to bring a friend and, sharing is caring! Because of course: the more, the merrier! 🚲🔊🕺🏽

Bang the drum, come through… You’re invited to dance or make music at Call & Response on May 9! An evening of spontaneous collaboration, friendly encounters, and playful creativity. We kick off with a Rhythm & Movement workshop by Júlio and Saskia where we will be exploring our natural rhythms, syncopation, groove, and the connection between live percussion and movement. After the workshop, we share a potluck-style food break, feel free to bring something, eat something, and connect over conversations. In the evening, the stage opens for our staple open podium. Sign up to join the floor, all poets, musicians, and movers who love improvisation are all welcome. Bar and sign-up open at 19:00. Opening performance by the guest artist starts at 19:30 sharp. 🌸 Guaranteed to by a grant opening, with these amazing people present: @itssparkling on keys 🎹 @jugglingpercussion on drums 🪘 @hoogendamlex in movement @feloriana_ on trumpet 🎺 @saskianartey in movement 🌸 We set the scene, you bring the energy.
