If you have a dog, or see a dog today, go hug them for me 🙏
If you’ve lost one, I send you mountains of love. 💗

It’s really something special seeing these 2 rescues become such good buddies over the last few years🤗

…In my case, there are dogs, always (yes, I am ‘that’ dog mama who brings these two with me everywhere I go, sorry, not sorry 🤣)

PS: did you know Ray and I donate to @whistlerwag every time we help our clients close on their homes in Whistler? ❤️🏠

PS: Should I do a ‘Make dinner with me’ series?

💾 Save this one for the rotation:
Vegan Chicken Caesar with Sweet Potato & Caramelized Onion
🤤🤤🤤🤤

Tip time:
The secret to sticking with plants only?
Knowing your WHY.
This is mine.

I went plant-based a decade ago after multiple knee surgeries to calm inflammation, and stayed for the animals and the planet. As a former Olympian, holistic nutritionist and plant-based chef, my goal is simple: meals that fuel you, (each calorie counts towards making sure you’re thriving in this life), must taste amazing and don’t take all night.

This one is creamy, savoury, crispy, and packed with protein.

💡 LIFE HACK:
I always double or triple my recipes so I have leftovers for throw together dinners or lunches later in the week (think wraps, bowls, mega salads). So when I say 2 yams, I’m actually roasting 4 to 6! Future you will thank present you.

R E C I P E 👩‍🍳

INGREDIENTS

🌱 2 yams
🌱 2 yellow onions
🌱 2 cups soy curls
🌱 Splash of Bragg’s liquid aminos
🌱 2 heads romaine
🌱 1/2 Red onion, thinly sliced
🌱 Capers
🌱 1 avocado

Caesar Dressing
🌱 1 can cannellini beans, liquid poured out
🌱 1 tbsp miso paste
🌱 2 tbsp nutritional yeast
🌱 1 clove garlic
🌱 1/4 cup pickle juice
🌱 Salt and pepper

DIRECTIONS

1. Heat oven to 400°F. Slice the onion in half and trim off the tip. Poke the yams and trim the ends.
2. Place on a lined baking sheet and bake 45 minutes, flipping the yams halfway.
3. Soak soy curls in water for 10 minutes, then strain.
4. Fry in a teeeeny bit of oil with a splash of Bragg’s for about 4 minutes, stirring so they brown on all sides. A couple batches.
5. Blend all dressing ingredients until smooth.
6. Toss romaine with the dressing, then add red onion, capers and avocado.
7. Plate the salad, top with yam rounds, peel the caramelized onion into the centre, and finish with the soy curl chicken.

Save this for your next ‘omg I’m stressed and don’t know what to make for dinner’ kinda night 💚

But really, all mushrooms are magical. The benefits are endless.

Read on to learn about the world’s first ever mushroom strip 🤯🙌

I’ve been a big fan of this company from the very beginning and even helped out during its startup. Functional mushrooms grown just down the road from me in beautiful Pemberton BC, created by a friend of mine.

I love everything Stay Wyld makes, but these pocket strips are the most convenient and fun way to take your mushrooms on the go.

Have you tried them yet?

So what’s actually in these sugar free pocket strips?

🧠 Energy LST Strip
Lion’s Mane, B12, L-Theanine, and green tea.

💪 Immunity LST Strip
2800mg of 7 functional mushrooms + vitamins, all in one little strip:
🍄 Lion’s Mane — brain power
🍄 Chaga — cellular defence (antioxidant powerhouse)
🍄 Cordyceps — energy & resilience & blood flow
🍄 Turkey Tail — gut + immunity
🍄 Maitake — metabolic support
🍄 Reishi — stress & immune balance
🍄 Shiitake — immune-active compounds

Can we all just give @erinireland a mega hands up 🙌🙌in the comments for all she does for the animals, veganism, and our taste buds?!

@pachavega Danielle had one request before whipping back to Nicaragua: ‘I MUST have a @tolivefor.bakery cinnamon bun before I leave’ and it did not disappoint.

Thx @erinireland for holding one for us 🤤🤤🤤

Watching these reflections brought me right back into the weekend.

A few days together, good food on the table, music playing, women dancing, honest conversations, ocean air… and somewhere along the way, everyone started settling into themselves.

I don’t think we talk enough about how much healing begins with feeling safe. When the nervous system finally has permission to exhale, something shifts. We laugh more easily. We listen differently. We remember parts of ourselves that get buried under busy lives and endless responsibilities.

That’s the experience Julia and I hope to create every time we gather.

Thank you to every woman who trusted us with your weekend, your stories, and your willingness to dive in.

We’re already dreaming about where Plants. Dance. Love. will take us in 2027, and I can’t wait to share it with you.

🌿 Danielle & Julia 💛💃
