Our crew of @emjtriteam guys traveled up to Cleveland for @usatriathlon Sprint/Olympic distance Nationals and had an epic weekend! The city and volunteers were great, and the guys took home some great results. A lot of hard work paid off this past weekend. None of this could have been possible without family, friends, faith and teammates that have been with me along the way and constantly making me a better person and competitor. In the famous words of Dabo Swinney, the best is yet to come! #Allin #cleanupnice .

Absolutely honored to be the recipient of the @usatriathlon Doug Clark Sportsmanship Award for 2018. Receiving the award over the Armed Forces Championship Weekend made it even more special. As always, a blast hanging out with these fast dudes and ladies all weekend and throwing it down on course.

The second triathlon I ever did was the Admirals Cup sprint tri on Point Mugu Naval Station. It directly precedes the Armed Forces Triathlon Championship every year. I remember walking through transition with some serious bike envy and thinking how cool it would be to compete for the Air Force someday.

It was so awesome and humbling to fulfill that dream in being invited to be a part of the All-Air Force Team this year. With this crazy ankle injury rollercoaster, I was grateful to get to still show up and even score some points for the team!

There was some serious talent out there and it was super fun chasing them. Definitely humbled to compete with my brothers in arms - not only are they world class athletes, they’re world class humans! It was a great weekend hanging out with friends and I’m looking forward to next year already.

All of the guys at team Every Man Jack are still so excited for Kyle Hooker's first Ironman 70.3 last weekend at Galveston, TX! Want to know more about Kyle?
.
In high school I swam the 500 at States in Virginia my junior and senior year. However, I have been doing triathlons since my 1st one in 2007 when I tried out for the Naval Academy Triathlon Team. Since then I have focused primarily on sprint and olympic distance races developing speed for the shorter races. I decided it was time to get out of my comfort zone and go for the longer distance.
.
My favorite part of the day was when I hit T2, the realization that I had just validated all of the cycling training I had put in over the winter and had set myself up to be able to run well and finish sub 4 hours. Also, my wife Kara cheering at me because she was so ecstatic and just as thrilled as I was feeling at this point.
.
I am not signed up for any other races this year unfortunately. The aircraft carrier that I am stationed on will be getting underway this summer it looks like, so my job could be pulling me away at random times. Possibly Victoria 70.3 since it is within driving distance for me. Olympic Distance Age Group Nationals in August is at the top of my list as well. Fingers crossed it works out this year. I also hope to find some local races to keep the speed and race fitness sharp, it should be a great year!
.
Congrats to Kyle and thank you for your service!

We’re all smiles about the start of racing season!!!...minus a couple of pain faces. Epic kickoff weekend to the season in Oceanside and Texas. Huge congrats to @hookerkyle for his overall age group win in his 70.3 debut at Texas 70.3. Kyle is an active member of the US Navy and is already back to work serving our country after throwing down on Sunday. #teamemj #everymanjack #triathlon #ironman703 #cleanupnice @garneau @rokasports @envecomposites @lululemonmen @sockguyluv @feltbicycles @on_running @sockguyluv @garmin @guenergylabs @ntrecovery @everymanjack
