Hey Baraboo! I’m so excited about bringing @dlc_band to @barabooconcerts this Thursday, July 23, from 7-9. We will be celebrating music from the Legend of Zelda, Persona 5, Pokémon, Chronotrigger, and Super Mario.
It’s the first time I’ve brought a group to Baraboo, and I couldn’t be more excited to share it with you!

Down Loadable Collective (DLC) is a band that combines the unpredictability and in the moment composition of jazz with the language and musical love of Video Game and J-Pop music!

Hailing from the Midwest, band founder Hans Fuerst fell in love with the melodies and harmonies of Video Game Music early in life. Later, the influence and musical process of jazz music infiltrated his process to create the band and approach now called Down Loadable Collective. The outcome of this fusion is a type of improvised music where the DNA is a splice of both the melodic diction of Video Game Music as well as the improvised and on the spot composition of jazz. A DLC show can range from somber and slow to upbeat and highly energetic!

(Week 63) Cherry Pit Open Jam @berlinmpls RECAP

This jam session is every Wednesday from 10pm-12:30am

Keep pulling up! We’ve been at capacity every week for months now, and often have a full sign up sheet.

Not every person that signs up will have a chance to play. We prioritize putting musicians on stage who want to improvise with other musicians and play a song where EVERYONE who wants to solo can do so!

Its an open jam with the communal, improvisational nature of a jazz jam. If you’re looking for a way to get one stage and get involved, a great way to do so is be learning the “Tunes Of The Week” which we post on a patreon every week. You can also practice improvising on your own, because if you show up with ONE specific song in mind and want to treat our space like an open mic, you are much less likely to get a turn on stage.

If you have questions about the space please reach out and ask, we will always be kind and accepting of all people in that context. All are welcome in this space.

Coming up next week….

The house band will be
Marvelous on keys @marvelous.leonardo
Jovon Williams on sax @jovon.sax
Henry Breen on bass @henrycbreen
& Our special guest……
Pete James Johnson on drums! @petejamesjohnson

This event is hosted by @phizzywoney and @marvelous.leonardo
