Meet the Dutch Barista Champion: Siebe

After winning the Dutch Barista Championships at Horecava earlier this year, we sat down with @sieboss for a little chat.

And then our footage mysteriously disappeared. (By mysteriously, we mean we accidentally deleted it. 🫠)

Two days later, Siebe kindly agreed to do it all over again. What a guy. ❤️

In our second attempt, we talked about his run, the inspiration behind his concept, and how he’s preparing for the biggest stage of his barista career.

And now… it’s almost time! 👀

From October 22–25, Siebe will represent the Netherlands at the World Barista Championship at @worldofcoffeepanama in Panama City.

Just over a week to go, and we couldn’t be prouder of you, Siebe! Good Luck! ❤️‍🔥

VOLUNTEERS WANTED! ☕️🧡

The Dutch Coffee Championships are just around the corner, and we’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us make it all happen!

We need your help on 6 November for set-up at Rotterdam Coffee Festival, and on 7 & 8 November during the Dutch Cup Tasters Competition and the preliminaries of the Dutch Latte Art Championships.

As a volunteer, you’ll be right in the middle of the action, helping behind the scenes, supporting the competitions, and making sure everything runs smoothly.

It’s a voluntary role, but we’ll make sure you’re well taken care of:
☕ Unlimited coffee (naturally!)
🥪 A delicious lunch
🚆 Travel costs covered

Can only help for one day? That’s absolutely fine! Every extra pair of hands makes a huge difference. It’s a great way to meet fellow coffee lovers, support the Dutch coffee community and experience the championships from up close.

And who knows… you might leave with some new friends, great memories and a healthy caffeine buzz.

Ready to join the team?
👉 Sign up via our website or send an email to vrijwilligers@scanederland.coffee

We’d love to have you there! 🧡

In 2027 viert Horecava haar 70-jarig jubileum.

𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗱𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻.

Die deadline is gehaald. 😊

We’re excited to welcome Alpro as the new plant-based milk sponsor of the Dutch Latte Art Championship! ❤️‍🔥

This competition season, competitors can showcase their latte art using @alprobarista Soy, Oat, Almond, Coconut or This is Not Milk. Whether you’re pouring classic tulips or pushing the limits with intricate free pours, the choice is yours.

And that’s not all. Thanks to @alpro 's support, we’re able to bring both the Dutch Latte Art Championship and the Dutch Cup Tasters Championship to the @rotterdamcoffeefest, making the competitions more accessible than ever and giving even more people the chance to experience them live.

At the same time, we’re incredibly grateful that @zuivelrijck continues to support the championships as our dairy milk partner. Their ongoing commitment to the Dutch coffee community means a lot to us.

For the Dutch Latte Art Championship, competitors are free to choose the milk that best suits their routine:
🥛 Zuivelrijck Organic Milk
🌱 Alpro Barista Soy, Oat, Almond, Coconut or This is Not Milk
✨ Or create your own blend by combining different milks.

But there’s even more! During the Dutch Barista Championship, competitors can also incorporate Alpro products into their signature beverage. Whether you’re exploring texture, flavour or creativity, Alpro is ready to help you bring your signature drink to life.

More information about the available products and competitor support will be shared soon. Stay tuned!
