Living in the moment ~ Loving in the moment

It’s strange… how we’re gettin older,
The wind might change,
Somebody else might hold her.
Nothing feels the same,
Until somethings do,
Maybe that’s how,
You know it’s true.

It’s strange,
I think I’ve been here before.
In another life….time,
In a hundred more.
It didn’t feel strange, when you held my hand~
Like the memory of a picture, a child drew in the sand.

The edges were blurred, but I knew your face.
A missing piece of the puzzle, finally finding its place.

I like that you’re strange,
Strange like me.
I like that you’re gentle,
Wild and free.

Its all a bit strange,
That’s pretty plain to see,
So come and be strange,
Strange with me

I’m a human✨being✨. Not a human ❌doing❌. I don’t know what I’m doing, and I think that’s rather beautiful <3

In January I began learning how to receive God’s love for me, freely without striving to earn it for the first time in my life.

In the Farewell Discourse, the teacher Jesus washes his students feet, predicts the betrayal of one of them, invites them into friendship, and tells them to stay exactly where they are, in His love.

In some translations, it’s the word “abide”. In others, it’s “remain”. In the Greek it is μένω ἐν ἐμοί (menō en emoi), which is a verb. It’s a “to do”.

It’s an invitational command that is both spatial and relational.

One of the outcomes of staying in God’s love and receiving it freely has been something I never thought I’d experience.

There are many moments each day where as I receive God’s love, I feel an out of body bliss.

It feels like Superman catching the wind beneath him for the very first time weightless, unstoppable in flight.

Like the hot, honeyed light of the sun warming my skin after hours in a dimly lit fluorescent and artic air conditioned office.

Like finding a surprise gift waiting on the kitchen counter, wrapped in the thoughtfulness of someone who loves me, after miles and days away from home.

It feels like that first chorus of birdsong in thawing spring, flapping through the cold air after winter’s long and frozen silence.

It feels like the best thing in the whole world, like the very thing I was made for.

As if my soul has finally come home.

These pictures are some moments where I felt that bliss. The kept promise that if I’d abide in Him, He would abide in me.

My “I receive all the love you have for me, right now” daily prayer, answered in abundance.
