One guest, maybe five or a fully filled up sessions. One shared moment in time.

I met each moment unfolding differently. The practice familiar and repeatable but the energy and the connection never was.
I let the energy flow more freely, tuned in more deeply and responded more spontaneously to those in front of me.

Every moment a thread.
Every experience a connection.
Every gathering a web that can never be woven in quite the same way again.

The priceless uniqueness of wellbeing at sea.

Driving sustainable change in Saudi Arabia.

Mövenpick Hotel Wa'ad Al Shamal has been shortlisted in the Sustainability Initiative of the Year category at the Hotelier Middle East Awards 2026 for our AloYoun On-Site Water Bottling Plant.

As the first and only 5-star hotel in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to implement an in-house bottling plant, this milestone reflects our commitment to Saudi Vision 2030 and sustainable hospitality operations.

From concept to execution inside MODON Industrial City, this closed-loop system proves that premium hospitality standards and true environmental accountability go hand in hand.

Thank you to the judging panel at Hotelier Middle East and to everyone supporting our sustainability mission.

A little slice of barefoot luxury, just a short drive from Dubai.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting @alzorahbeachresort in Ajman for a hotel site inspection, and what a beautiful reminder that some of the UAE’s loveliest escapes are right on our doorstep.

This five-star sanctuary is a masterclass in understated luxury. Designed by renowned Italian architect Piero Lissoni, it’s surrounded by pristine beaches, lush greenery and protected mangroves.

A few things worth knowing:

🛏️ 89 rooms, suites and private pool villas – wonderfully spacious, with a real sense of exclusivity.

🍽️ 6 dining and drinking venues – from relaxed poolside bites to refined dining experiences.

🧖‍♀️ Luxury spa and wellness facilities – perfect for a little rest and restoration.

🏊‍♀️ 80-metre swimming pool – alongside a beautiful stretch of private beachfront.

⛳ Championship golf – access to the nearby 18-hole, par-72 Al Zorah Golf Club, designed by Nicklaus Design.

🛶 Mangrove kayaking – explore the surrounding protected wetlands and discover an entirely different side of the UAE.

🌿 1 million square metres of protected mangroves – a remarkable natural sanctuary just moments from the resort.

But what really stood out to me was the atmosphere. The architecture, the tranquillity, the thoughtful details and the feeling that nothing is trying too hard. It’s luxury without the unnecessary fuss. And I absolutely love that.

Why do I spend time inspecting hotels?

Because beautiful photographs only tell half the story. I want to experience the atmosphere, understand the facilities and discover those little details that make a property right for you.

Whether it’s a romantic weekend, a golf getaway or simply a few days of switching off, Al Zorah has certainly earned a place on my UAE staycation shortlist.

And if you’re considering a little escape of your own, you know where to find me…

Big news from our not-so-little cat family! 🐈

Our Cat Warriors program has been shortlisted for Sustainability Initiative of the Year at the Hotelier Middle East Awards 2026.

Behind the program is our Sustainability Team, alongside 17 dedicated host volunteers who care for more than 50 resident cats every single day. From daily feeding to making sure each cat is healthy and well looked after, there’s a lot of heart behind this initiative.

We’re incredibly proud of the people who make this possible, although our cats seem to have mixed feelings about all the excitement.

Swipe to see their reactions. 🐾

“Do I need to come down for this?”

“Where’s the red carpet?”

“You caught me mid-snack.”

“I’ll be accepting congratulations from here.”

“YAAAAAS! I have waited nine lives for this!”

“Wake me up when we win.”

“We need to discuss this in the next cat briefing.”

“So, do I get more treats?”

“Please, no interviews today.”

“GIMMEEEE THE TROPHYYY!”

Last week, we welcomed some of Dubai’s leading real estate agents to an exclusive Open House.

The afternoon began in our new Executive Residence and continued to the Presidential Suite, where guests lingered to take it all in. Our leadership team was there to welcome everyone and share the story behind each space, over Champagne and gourmet canapés.

Settle in for as long as you like. Both the Executive Residence and Presidential Suite are ready to move in and eligible Marriott Bonvoy members can enjoy points on their stay.

Let us welcome you to your new home. Contact junaid.hameed@sheratongranddubai.com or call 04 503 4444.

🔥 NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE DEFEATED. 🔥

The laughter of the defeated and the tears of the humiliated are the most dangerous things in the world.
