!! ATTN MONTREAL !!

SAVE THE DATE: June 26th, 5pm in the Ballroom of the Student Society of McGill University

!! REGISTRATION IS FREE | LINK IN BIO !!

This is the Montreal stop of a nation-wide lecture tour for the Drug User Liberation Front (DULF)’s legal defence fund. Eris Nyx, the organization’s co-founder, will be speaking about the rationale behind DULF, the evidence base supporting their intervention, and the legal charges currently being directed against them.

DULF is a grassroots harm reduction organization based out of Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside that pioneered a radical compassion club model to intervene in the toxic drug supply crisis, which has killed tens of thousands of poor and unhoused drug users across the country. In a dramatic turn of political tides, the organizers of the compassion club—which had been tacitly permitted by the city and local police—were arrested and are now facing severe criminal charges, including the possibility of life in prison.

You can read more about their evidence-based intervention @dulfbc , where you can also donate directly to their legal defence fund.

Eris’ talk will be followed by a panel featuring local experts in drug policy and harm reduction, as well as an open Q&A with the audience.

The talk is free to attend, but please RSVP by ‘purchasing’ a free ticket so our organizing team can get a sense of the numbers. We’ll be accepting donations in person at the event! Funds raised will cover event expenses (approx. $400) and all additional proceeds will go directly to DULF’s legal defence fund.

If you’d like to lend a hand with the planning or the set-up on the day of the event, feel free to reach out to our organizing committee: dulfsolidaritymontreal@gmail.com

The event is being co-presented by the Indigenous Support Workers Project and CKUT 90.3, and the space was secured with the generous assistance of Reform and Resettle.

!! AFTERPARTY !!

The folks at Star Bar have generously offered to host us for an afterparty following Eris’ lecture, so come eat pizza and talk drugs with us!

QRTR - Bruise (Jordan Gardner Remix) OUT NOW ༄

We met a few year back after playing the same festival lineup in Montreal.

During this time she also introduced a bunch of us to a game called Kendama and we observed her save Piknic Électronik with her skills lol (observe slide 4).

@qrtrmusic is truly as pure of heart as her music sounds, go give the whole ONDAS REMIX album a listen, everyone slapped on their takes.

Thanks for including me on this journey 🪙
