POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

“Every one of us has secrets. And having secrets does not necessarily make a person evil. There’s both good and bad within all of us. It’s just part of being human. There are no purely good people... not in this world”

I’m catching up on posts, but I was FORTUNate enough to get the Fire Emblem Fortune’s Weave “Dagdan Edition” for the Nintendo Switch 2.

So I’ve gone into this one blind but I know for a fact that Fortune’s Weave is a prequel to Three Houses as it is set over 100 years prior.

The Dagdan Edition comes with an artbook, physical copy of the game, art cards, and a steel case. All of which fits perfectly inline with the other Collector’s Editions for the last few Fire Emblem games

It’s also my first physical game for the Nintendo Switch 2 as Pokopia was a digital code.

Did you pick up Fire Emblem Fortune’s Weave? What are your thoughts on it?

“Pkmn Trainer Leaf wants to battle…”

The Pokemon 30th anniversary continues and the 30th Anniversary TCG set is releasing this week… and the reception for the first release of them is absolutely insane. Good luck to those of you who got preorders and managed to order yourselves a pack. I’m waiting on it.

In the meantime, I’m back after a break and I’m continuing the Pokémon Trainers series from the Kotobukiya ArtFXJ sculptures and today is Pokemon Trainer Leaf and Squirtle from Pokemon Fire Red/Leaf Green.

The sculpt is adorable and it’s really well translated from Hitoshi Ariga’s design (modern Pokémon character designer and former MegaMan artist). The details are so crisp too. It’s interesting how versatile the different designs for each trainer from each of the games are as they look like the games aesthetics but still retaining Ariga’s styling.

For those who don’t know, if you own Fire Red or Leaf Green on the Nintendo Switch, you finally have access to Pokemon Home and being able to transfer your Pokemon in and out of the game. It’s been a few months since these released on Switch and it’s great to hear they finally have compatibility with Home.

I was fortunate enough to come across the Kotobukiya Leaf and Squirtle (almost given up) and honestly, the sculpt is so good. Special shout out to @retrogamecity.jp for finding this one for me.

I originally had Leaf Green but during the mid to late 2010’s I tracked down a cart of Fire Red as I sold my Leaf Green a long time ago. But I found all the components to complete my AUS version of Fire Red (did a whole post on it a while ago). I have played it, I started with Squirtle.

I will be honest though, I want more Hoenn or Johto based content or games.

What were your thoughts on the rerelease of Fire Red and Leaf Green? Do you think the Kanto region of games is over done?

It finally happened…

Did my tax return and I treated myself with something I have been waiting on for a long while. I finally purchased a Nintendo Switch 2.

So I have had my Switch 1 since 2017 with the Super Smash Bros Ultimate Edition switch console, and that has been my Switch console for the most part of a decade. Now I’ve invested in a Switch 2 but I got the edition that comes with Pokopia. And I have to say… my daughters are loving Pokopia, while I have been cooking and cleaning. Joys of the gamer parent life.

It’s too early to give my judgements on the console or on Pokopia, but the upgrade feels smoother and higher res. Keen to try some of the Switch 1 games that got an upgrade on the Switch 2.

Have you invested in a Switch 2? Have you played Pokopia?

“Pkmn Trainer Lillie wants a rematch…”

Found this one a while ago along with Gloria but since I took a break from on here, a Kotobukiya ArtFXJ sculpture of a trainer I didn’t think I’d find so close to home of Pokemon Trainer Lillie and her Clefairy from Pokemon Ultra Sun/Moon.

The crew at Kotobukiya do an amazing job with these sculpts, hence why I’m tracking them down where I can for way better prices for what they’re normally going for. The translation of Hitoshi Ariga’s designs (modern Pokémon character designer and former MegaMan artist) are just amazing.

… so…. I am still to play Sun/Moon and Ultra Sun/Moon, it’s sort of where I had a break from the franchise. But I did catch the Anime on Netflix and found myself enjoying it way more than I thought I would. Rewatching it on DVD and having an absolute blast with it. Probably my next favourite series after XY. And yes… I finally started on my copy of Pokemon Sun.

I recently rewatched the Evolutions anime and Lillie’s story in that series is still one of my favourite stories. The brutality of Lusamine in that as a “parent”, coming from a parent, she needed her ass handed to her hahaha!

What were your thoughts on Ultra Sun and Moon? Do we need another Alolan based game?

“Pkmn Trainer Gloria wants to battle…”

The Pokemon 30th anniversary continues as the TCG causes commotion with EBGames and their methods in nudging out scalpers, various bits of merch has captured the hearts of many Nintendo gamers AND YouTubers. Pokemon TCG releases the Pitch Black series on the 17/7, Pokopia is getting expansion DLC passes, rumors of the starters for Winds and Waves final evolutions are circulating, the 30th anniversary has been big.

So continuing the Pokémon Trainers series from the Kotobukiya ArtFXJ sculptures and today is Pokemon Trainer Gloria and Sobble from Pokemon Sword/Shield

I will be honest as I have been replaying Pokemon Shield recently, I beat the main story in 25 hours and that’s taking my time, but i haven’t explored everything nor done the DLC yet. But goddamn this game has so much charm to it. I am loving revisiting Galar all over again. This time with Sobble, a Ralts and a Hatenna. And there is so much I actually forgot about in it too.

I was fortunate enough to come across the Kotobukiya Gloria and Sobble (almost given it) and honestly, the sculpt is so good.

What were your thoughts on the Galar region of games? Was the DLC worth picking up?

🇬🇧 A new piece has joined the collection, namely the 1/3 Scale Guts in his Berserker Armor by @prime1studio a piece I have had my eye on for some time, and for which my home cinema even had to endure a small renovation.
Although I am not the greatest admirer of simple museum poses, and the Black Swordsman Armor remains a touch closer to my heart, the sheer presence of this statue speaks volumes. Guts feels massive, and the Dragonslayer could almost be mistaken for an actual sword in size. The bonus head in particular truly won me over. Only the fastening of the cape proved a minor test of patience, beyond that there is nothing negative to say.
My Berserk grail remains the GutsXZoddXGanishka piece by Oniri, yet the two stand beautifully side by side. And amidst all the praise for the wonderfully realistic JND Guts, one should by no means underestimate Prime 1 Studio's manga-inspired interpretations either.

Finally got some of the manga. These Deluxe Editions make it accessible for North American readers, and they’re stunning! I adore the anime series. @hotzbtch

“Pkmn Trainer Juliana wants to battle…”

The Pokemon 30th anniversary continues as Pokopia smashes gaming sales and captures the hearts of many Nintendo gamers AND YouTubers. Pokemon TCG released the Perfect Order series yesterday, Hatsune Miku did her big Pokemon Collab: High Voltage concert in Japan the other day and newer Pokemon fans get the chance to play Pokemon Fire Red and Leaf Green on their Switch 1/2’s, the 30th anniversary has been big.

So continuing the Pokémon Trainers series from the Kotobukiya ArtFXJ sculptures and today is Pokemon Trainer Juliana and Sprigatito from Pokemon Scarlet/Violet.

The Paldean region of games didn’t exactly win me over when I first played them (frame rate, bugs, etc) but I still played through the entirety of the core game and completed the Pokedex (I didn’t get the DLC as i couldn’t justify it) but the game has gotten significantly better since the Switch 2 and a couple of fixes on the Switch 1. I stuck with Scarlet because the regional choices and the paradox Pokemon from Scarlet I prefer over the Violet ones.

I was fortunate enough to come across the Kotobukiya Juliana and Sprigatito (almost given it) and honestly, the sculpt is better than the photos you see of it online.

What were your thoughts on the Paldean region of games? Was the DLC worth picking up?
