Why am I, famously not a sports guy, posing at a legendary Cubs player's grave?

About 3 1/2 years ago I was asked to guest on Thor's @hourofthunder podcast to talk about amazing and quirky movies with some amazing and quirky people. The titular Thor bestows nicknames on the members of the pantheon and, after a discussion about odd but real baseball player nicknames on an episode talking about Field of Dreams, I was granted the moniker Old Tomato Face.

But that was never my nickname, it was his. Charles "Gabby" Hartnett was an icon of the Chicago Cubs for almost 2 decades. He hit the famous "Homer in the Gloamin'" in 1938 and his actual nickname, I cannot stress this enough, was Old Tomato Face.

So, to the OG OTF, thank you for letting me borrow your psaucy pseudonym for a few years, but I return it back to you with my respects.

And thank you Thor for a great way to return to Chicago and a great meal at a Chicagoland classic!

New Episode Alert!
“The art of our necessities is strange. That can make vile things precious.” The end of our weird and awesome dive into Craig Denney's The Astrologer is nigh, so who better to turn to than the well-behaved Norse God, Thor? Actually, he is really the host of the podcast @hourofthunder. Will lightning strike with this outrageous epic or will the rise and fall of an everyday conman just be too much? Tune in wherever you get your podcasts to find out!

8 unsuspecting guests. 1 inscrutable film. Endless confusion. The house is clean… but our mics were NOT. This week on Dad From the Crypt, we teamed up with the awesome host of the Hour of Thunder podcast to break down every floating chair, face-peeling hallucination, and pool full of skeletons in Poltergeist.
We dig into: ✨ The suburban nightmare vibes
🎬 The Tobe Hooper vs. Steven Spielberg debate
📺 That clown (you know the one)
💀 The curse rumors
😭 And why it still hits emotionally 40+ years later
If you grew up traumatized by your TV static… this episode is for you.
Listen now and let us know — are you Team “They’re Here” or Team “This House Is Clean”? 👇

I am so unbelievably grateful for the overwhelmingly positive responses to my work. I only started my collaging journey in September, and your encouragement these past 36 hours has given this neurospicy brain of mine the motivation to keep cutting, pasting, and sharing with you lovely people. 🤜💥🤛 Which wrestler should I feature next?!
