POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

A DIFFERENT KIND OF STATUE

For decades, the statue hobby has revolved around the same heroes, villains and franchise icons. We love them, and plenty of them still sit in our own collections.

In 2018, we set out to do for statues what the art toy movement did for vinyl: put the format in the hands of artists.

Every original art statue begins with an artist’s vision and is developed in close collaboration with them, from first concept to final paint. Sculpted, cast and hand-painted in our own workshop.

That idea has taken us into the worlds of @pascalblanche, @theartofskinner and @brent.ashe

Goraxx | Bringing Skinner’s Psychedelic World to Life

Goraxx, the monster maker, was our first statue with @theartofskinner, and it pushed our painting into new territory: carrying his electric, psychedelic color and razor-fine lines off a flat page and onto a sculpted form.

The statue was engineered in separate parts so each area could be painted on its own, with details etched into the sculpt to give the paint an edge to hold. From there, our in-house painters worked freehand, with Skinner’s original artwork as their guide.

When the paint master was done, this is what we got from Skinner:

“Wow, House of Gog has completely blown my mind. This is above and beyond anything I have ever seen.” - Skinner

For our team, there’s no better review than hearing that from the Skinnerman himself

The full paint process is now on our blog, from the digital sculpt to a row of finished statues.

CEREMONY - The Corruption of Neksis Vorn

He feeds upon their whispered dreams,
In his wake, a river of silence.
Souls bound to the prison of his mind,
The cradle of their ceaseless night.

KLAW | THE DUAL NATURE OF THE SPACE RAVAGER

Original art statue by @pascalblanche

When Klaw’s escape pod crashes on Derelict Planet, something from the depths finds him. A surge of knowledge and power passes through him, transforming his hand into a grotesque new weapon. A mutated claw that will come to define him.

Whatever has awakened in Klaw, his life will never be the same.

That transformation is built into the statue. The mechanical hand and rifle of the space ravager. The mutated claw and double-bladed sword of the Blademaster. Mix them as you like; the parts not in use sit on their own display base.

His hand-welded armor, the story of how Klaw, Moonstone and Jaak converge around a single event and the making of his launch video are all in our latest blog feature (link in bio).

Klaw is available to order for 780$, exclusively at houseofgog.com.

Edition of 400, hand-signed and numbered by Pascal Blanché.

Flexible payments, we ship worldwide.

JAAK LAUNCH VIDEO: HOW WE BUILT DERELICT PLANET IN OUR KITCHEN 🎥🎬

For Jaak’s launch video, we wanted to put her in the world Pascal Blanché built. Literally.

A set designer shaped the dunes, created the planet surface and painted it until it looked like the desolate plains of Derelict Planet.

Then we brought in a film crew.

The kitchen and dining room filled up with cameras, lights, sliders, macro lenses and cables, all pointed at a piece of alien terrain sitting on a table.

Then we looked at the monitor.

The kitchen was gone. The walls were gone. It was Jaak, standing on the surface of Derelict Planet.

We shot until 2am and probably would have kept going.

This was a lot of fun.

Jaak - Blademaster version

Jaak, the Giant Hunter, comes with two heads, two weapons and two bases. Display her with the hood and rifle, or switch to the kasa and spear and transform her into the Blademaster.

The two configurations completely transform her look, giving you what feels like two different characters in one statue. The parts you’re not using get their own display bases, so they don’t end up forgotten in a drawer.

Created by @pascalblanche. Limited to 400, hand-signed and numbered.

780$ USD. Payment plans available.

Available at houseofgog.com. Link in bio.
