🌸 For Enid 🌬️
I’ve never shared on my public page but 5 years on and I’ve learnt to live with the heartbreak enough to share widely. For myself but for anyone who has experienced the utter devastation of losing a child.

Today our baby Enid would have been 5. She never got the chance. She was stillborn. I wrote this back then to try and make sense of it all.

Dust
The dust settles into the hollow
so you feel less empty
Days once long and silent
now speak sparks of joy
The light catches the world
slightly more brightly
And carries the burden in the UV rays
When the tears come they feel comforting
A remembrance of one we’ll never forget
As the dust settles so does our love
into a soft routine of belonging
a gentle tug of a missing part
a life that never got the chance
who lives nevertheless
in a moment off guard
in the sound of the wind
in the delicate patter of rain
and the gentle ache in my core
more than sadness
less than sad
more hiraeth than hopeless
as the dust settles.

“Keep Pushing Peace!!”
I arrived in Belgium last Friday were I went to the Oversized festival. Unfortunately Simian Switch couldn’t make it so I hopped on a couple of trains and got there around 3pm. This was a small self funded festival where all the guys and girls that worked were helping out friends or doing it for the love. Everyone there were great, super happy vibes and shockingly hot weather. My wall ended up being twice the original size as my friend couldn’t make it. We were given 6 cans, and I luckily had some left over scraps and somehow pulled this whopper out of pretty much nothing. I was meeting Demos and Dwan, when we weren’t sweating we were laughing and staying up too late. Literally everyone there from organisers , staff, artist and the general public were so lovely it was difficult to leave on the Sunday. After I finished this I painted another massive character but I’ll post that later. I went weird and simple on my letters, though I do dig my jumble of arrows and my bboy. Some older ladies asked me what my painting meant, and I said I’ve always been into folklore and that every country has stories of yetis/bigfoot/Sasquatch/Wood Wose and that people claim to still see them. Some people say they’re crazy but I have also seen and experienced strange things in my life and feel there is probably some truth to some of these people’s experiences. It also makes me feel better that I’m not the only one that has seen some weird shit. 😅😂
