As I took my jersey off for the very last time last night, I started thinking about the immense amount of support I’ve had over the years. Looking back, I have so many people to thank. Ledford softball has had such an impact on me and my career. From the timid freshman with no self confidence to the outgoing senior who believes in herself… thank you to everyone who was a part of my journey for the last four years. To Coach Evans, thank you for giving me the chance to prove myself. From day one you pushed me to be my best. You picked me up when I was down, you believed in me when I thought nobody else did, and you shaped me into who I am today. I was worried going into high school that I would be like most of the other girls I knew and would hate high school softball because of the coach. Little did I know that you would make these the best years of my career so far. Four years ago I didn’t want to play after high school. I hated softball, and was wishing these four years of playing away. You took the girl who wanted nothing to do with this sport, and changed her into someone who lives for the game and is proudly committed to play in college and couldn’t be happier. From all the laughs, to even all the tears throughout the years- truly, I can never thank you enough. To Coach Moser, even though you couldn’t make it last night, I know you were at awards cheering me on. You instilled the drive in me from day one. You talked me out of my head when I was down on myself over the years. Every time I thought I couldn’t- you pushed me until I realized that I could. You’ve helped me become comfortable with the uncomfortable- and that’s been one of the most rewarding things on and off the field. Thank you Mosey, for the most fun four years. To Coach Megan, who was only here for my senior year… when Evans told me that we had a pitching coach coming I never knew it would have been this fun with you in the bullpen with us. It’s so easy for us to get in our head when we’re out there on the mound- and you never failed to help us get out of our heads and genuinely enjoy the game. Thank you. Ledford softball, thank you for everything. Once a panther, always a panther. 🖤🤍
