I didn’t know I needed ballet back in my life untill I started working with @ballet_axis and thanks to @sally_cowdin I’m back on pointe🩰 Craaazy! I never would have thought I would be dancing on pointe again after quiting for five years. It is a challenge and it is not the same and not perfect but approaching the pointe shoes and the technique as the dancer I am today is very precious✨

It is almost two years ago since we started working on Pointe of Axis! And now we are working on our next production Meeting Pointe! Can’t wait to continue finding new approaches to the ballet artform with these absolute queens who I love being nerdy with in the studio💖

We are thrilled to announce our upcoming performance “Meeting Pointe, a triple bill with Ballet Axis”

Three premieres by three female Icelandic choreographers. Anna Guðrún Tómasdóttir, Kristín Marja Ómarsdóttir and Erna K. Jónasdóttir. This triple bill explores the diversity of what the ballet can be.

You never know what a simple act of showing up will open for you ✨I took my daughter to watch the amazing @irisasmundar practice ballet with her group, @ballet_axis , who were hosting an open practice and Q&A back in May 2025. I went to witness their world for an afternoon and see how it might move my daughter 🩰✨

Instead, I was the one that got moved 🤍 for that one open practice became the unexpected starting point for friendships and creative collaborations with an incredible group of women and led me to this piece of work I’m deeply proud to have been part of.

I had the absolute joy of co-recording (@_m_i_o_____ ), mixing and mastering the music for Point of Axis, the Gríma Award winning ballet.

It’s difficult to put into words how inspiring it has been to witness these women create, practice and perform. To be close to that process through the music of the wonderful @thorbjorg_, who wrote this beautiful score and trusted me with it. That trust and the time we spent talking about liiiiife has meant a lot to me.

Inspired by our conversations and the emotional landscape behind the score, I wanted the sound to stay polarized, real and raw, without tuning the performance by Þorbjörg and @diljaa_ at all, but also slightly distorted and webbed together with dreamy reverb, allowing the music to constantly move between reality and dream.

Please give this album a listen and congratulations to everyone involved 🌹

I’m so grateful you had me along for this chapter and I can’t wait to see where the next one takes you.

Ég samdi sem sagt þessa tónlist fyrir Pointe of Axis sýninguna. Ég er ótrúlega stolt af þessu verkefni og er óendanlega þakklát fyrir alla sem hjálpuðu mér að gera það að veruleika. Það er svo góð tilfinning að hafa loksins gefið út tónlistina mína eftir alla þá vinnu sem fór í hana.

Takk elsku besta @sally_cowdin fyrir að treysta mér fyrir að semja tónlistina fyrir @ballet_axis sýninguna.
