The official Harlem School of the Arts Theatre Department. Enriching students through acting, filmmaking & theatre. The Earth without Art is just EH💜

Two weeks. One message. Countless people coming together to make it happen. ❤️

What started as an idea quickly became a community effort, bringing together students from Harlem School of the Arts, independent artists, dancers, musicians, and supporters from across the New York and New Jersey area.

The amazing part? Many of us didn't meet each other until the day of the event.

Yet somehow, through a shared belief in music, community, and the message behind Jarrod Lawson's "If We Pretend (Where Is The Love?)," everything came together in the middle of Times Square for a moment we'll never forget.

Featuring Turbo Goth, Sabi Pitt, NKTA, A-Natural, Surayah the Artist, members of Brass Queens, Harlem School of the Arts, and many more, this activation was proof of what can happen when people come together with a common purpose.

Tomorrow, we're excited to share the full video:

🎥 tapyoca Presents: One World w/ Jarrod Lawson & Friends in Times Square, NYC

Join us as we lift up a message of unity, love, and connection through music.

📺 Premiering tomorrow on the tapyoca YouTube channel.

From rehearsal rooms to the middle of Times Square!

The incredible students from Harlem School of the Arts (@hsaact) brought the energy, passion, and choreography to life for the Jarrod Lawson Times Square Flash Mob hosted by tapyoca during New York Music Month. @jlawsings - 'If We Pretend (Where is the Love?)'

From practice sessions to performance day, they showed up ready to move the crowd and spread the message of “Where Is The Love?” all across Times Square ❤️

Big love to every dancer, choreographer, supporter, and passerby who joined the moment with us.

$During the 2025-2026 school year, you made HSA a place where young artists discover what they are capable of. The impact of our programs speak for themselves: ▶️ 17 graduating pre-professional students are all headed to top-notch universities with over $750K+ in total scholarships awarded across the class. ▶️ 14 school and community outreach programs, and 39 partnerships with community centers and arts organizations with names you might recognize (Guggenheim, Madison Square Garden and the Museum of the City of New York, to name a few) ▶️ And most importantly: 2,000+ students served But the playing field for young artists in New York City isn’t level. Serious training in even one discipline at a comparable institution runs $3,000–$8,000 a year. At HSA, we offer the highest caliber of training at a fraction of the price. This past school year, we distributed $603,500 in scholarships across our pre-professional training program last year, making world-class, conservatory-style arts training completely free for the students who need it most, plus $62,610 in financial aid and merit scholarships to our general enrollment students, ensuring every young artist has a real shot. As we approach the close of our fiscal year on June 30, we are working to raise $75,000 to sustain and expand the transformative arts education experiences that HSA provides to young people across Harlem and New York City. Please consider making a donation—$25, $50, $100, whatever you can give— to help us reach that goal.
