Pt. 2 !! ✨ We had a great time hosting another group of HSID students!!

It was so fun connecting with everyone, learning more about their projects, and giving them the chance to see their designs come to life at full scale. We love sharing new tools to help them prepare for the industry and bring their creative visions to reality!📐✨

Field days are some of my FAVORITE days! 🤍

Learning, exploring, discovering new products, and getting inspired by all the beautiful materials and possibilities! There’s something so exciting about getting hands-on with the products and finishes that will eventually bring our design visions to life.

And just when you think you’ve seen everything tile can do… along comes a tiled cowboy to remind us that creativity really has no limits! 🤠✨

And also, the best part? Taking everything I’m learning and discovering back to my clients to create something truly special for their spaces!

A huge thank you to showroom manager Audra Brock and the team at @artistic_tile for welcoming our @hsiddallas class and sharing your time, knowledge, and expertise with us!

So grateful for these opportunities to keep learning, growing, and creating! ✨

@hsiddallas WEEK FOUR🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️

Y'all it has been a doozy of fun the past two weeks. Is a doozy of fun a thing...? Not sure, but wow has it been busy. We started a larger portfolio project that took two weeks (which I will share soon🙊🙊). We are full steam ahead on AutoCAD & SketchUp classes. Learning both at one time realllllyyyy makes your brain work.

Our site visit for week four was to... 🥁🥁🥁 DALLAS MARKET / WORLD TRADE CENTER. Showroom HEAVEN!
We started the morning off @visualcomfort 's largest showroom and I could've wandered around in there for hours. So much inspiration. There really is a science behind lighting and it makes a HUGE difference.
Second we went to @mcstudiodallas and it was like seeing my Pinterest board in real life. It made me excited to take some more risks in my designs!
Third we went to @botanicalmix to learn about faux floral arrangements.
Finally we ended @loloirugs and I learned SO SO much about the different types of rugs. There is a place for every single price point and type of weave. They were so helpful and kind!

I left with so much inspiration and learned so much! Still having pinch me moments and find myself beaming while working my tail off- that's how you know you love what you're doing!

Week 3 recap @hsiddallas 🖍️📐👩🏼‍💻🎨🏠💚

For week three we were tasked with designing a dining room! I had never done one before & loved it! I found this flame stitch fabric and knew I had to use it, so I used that as my jumping off point.

This week was "Color Week". I felt like I was back in art class in the best way & learned so much about color theory.

As for site visits it was a busy day! First off we started @cuttingcornersdfw who were SO kind to let us cut as many fabric samples as our hearts desired. So so generous! Next up was @walkerzanger to learn more about stone & tile. So neat to see all the different slabs. Lastly, we ended the day @eurodesignbuild to learn LOTS about kitchen and bath design. Much of what we focused on were the different lines of fixtures. There can be some sneaky things going on with manufactures, which is why it is so important to talk to reps who know the products inside & out. It made me so thankful for showrooms and their vast knowledge!

WEEK 4!! 🎨💗

Some more eye candy because Thursday was just SO good 😍😍 A week full of color theory, getting the hang of architectural lettering, a fun little assignment celebrating our colors (obviously pink for me ☺️), and starting SketchUp on top of AutoCAD… definitely keeping us on our toes!😂 So many fun projects in the works that I can’t wait to share soon!!
