‼️What an amazing time we had at the KRS-One Lecture last week 🔥🔒3 of our WISE-Academy Program Fellows gave outstanding empowering performances that lifted everyone up! Stay tuned for the recap!
🎤Thank you to @hiphop4change for the collaboration & it was joyous to see our organizations come together after many years of our impactful work through Hip-Hop Therapy, and Expression, for our youth.
🎤This was a beautiful opportunity for the youth, educators and community members to come learn about Hip-Hop as the culture it is straight from the recollection & experiences of one of Hip-Hop’s first & original Teachas, @teacha_krsone 🙏🏽

We had so much fun celebrating our Staff on our last Staff Appreciation Day of 2024. Each of our staff members, put in hard work each semester in putting every single youth we work with, first. Through this, we have become a FAMILY in community!

We appreciate the dedications and contributions of each of our staff members individually and collectively, as we’ve seen and heard of the positive impacts on our youth firsthand. About 50% of our staff have come from our programs, and we are excited to continue and grow through this our Academy Program, Paid Pathways Internship.

Shoutout to our wonderful new staff members who joined us this year , becoming another great addition to our BRL Family!

KODAK ENERGY! What a great 1st week of our Bootcamp Staff Training!! As we celebrate our 20 years of BRL this year, we could not be more proud of the growth of our org through the growth of our staff, including the amazing @brlboston staff as well as new staff, who are all at the forefront of serving the youth. The fact that we have staff leading trainings, and in leadership positions who came up as youth who started in our program & early Academy back when we started, speaks volumes to the individual professional & personal growth they all have gone through. This is what we want more of! Each of our staff is so unique, talented and authentic in their own way, which is exactly what makes us the BRL Family that we are, who know how to meet the youth where they are at, to help them discover their own leadership, their voice & capacity for healing. We are missing a few staff but their energy was still felt!!

The core memories from this week will be carried on with us through our continued work, how we operate as a unit in our fulfilling our Mission & expansion of our services to reach as many youth as possible!

Photo dump from our first time meeting with the @brlboston staff.
We spent a full week going over artist and clinical trainings, connecting with each other, and learning from one another. Much love to everyone who attended, to everyone who delivered a training, and a very special thanks to @brlboston for making the journey to Oakland to connect with us.
