When I was little, I dreamed about this. Traveling the country, screaming these songs, and being surrounded by people who shared the same love & passion. That idea alone felt so out of reach… something I never could have imagined experiencing, let alone doing it nine times. For those nights, I got to feel completely free. Maybe that’s what makes this mean so much more than just going to a concert. No, I never got “bored” of the same show. It isn’t just the shows. It’s the reminder of how far I’ve come. It’s proof that the kid who once felt like he wasn’t enough, grew up and created a life where he could experience the things that once felt impossible. Somewhere out there was a boy struggling with the complexities of the world. Someone who thought he wasn’t good enough, or smart enough, or cool enough, or pretty enough. And now, somehow, he found his way here. I got to give him everything he ever wanted and experience a kind of happiness that I once could only imagine. The dream I had became a memory I’ll hold onto for the rest of my life. After this summer, I wish I could go back and tell that version of myself that he’s going to find a place where he feels understood. A place where he doesn’t have to hide the parts of himself that the world told him were too much. A place where he can laugh, love, dream, and be completely himself without being afraid of judgment. The Eternal Sunshine Tour was never just a tour to me. It was a promise that the dreams I had when I was younger were worth believing in. To the kid I once was - I love you so much.
