We are so excited to announce @kexp is presenting our 9th anniversary benefit show at @thesunsettavern on February 7th! Ticket link in Bio! This night is meant to be about feeling what community from ground up feels like and looks. You will leave smiling, guaranteed. Bring a friend and get your tix asap!

We are celebrating 9 years of music photographers sharing their time and talents to uplift the artists and music scenes around Seattle as well as providing mentorship opportunities and access to artists wanting to learn. These photographers are all dedicated to community and the arts and immensely talented artists themselves. This year we relaunch as a photography collective and offering equitable scaled pay rates as well as continuing our work in uplifting and bridging the music scenes around Seattle to their communities.

February 7th you can learn more about our organization relaunch and enjoy short sets from artists across Seattle’s diverse music landscape! We will have a photo show by the Ballard VOX photographers, and the chance to meet and learn from these local organizations. We also get to hang with Max from The @heronsnestoutdoor Creative Resistance art nights who will be providing button making supplies for you to get DIY with or make some pre-made designs.

This show will be directly supporting all these orgs’ work in Seattle communities and providing direct aid to a family in Gaza.

My WA Music Critic Ballot for The Seattle Times Best Albums of 2025 from WA artists came out, and I was excited to see the huge variety in all the polls this year! I take a lot of time and care in curating this list for Mike at the Seattle Times, and chose to keep mine as unranked this year again.

Seattle’s local music landscape is highly diverse and rich, and it became my personal mission last year to start exploring every small nook and cranny of Seattle. I found so much amazing music already, just leaving my normal neighborhoods I tend to veer to, and I still feel I barely scratched the surface of what is going on locally. While I was at it, I met some really amazing people and communities, and I feel so grateful.

Thanks to my work with KEXP I created Ballard VOX 9 years ago and through this have been able to meet and build a really cool team of photographers. This year I am relaunching it into a new photography collective and we will be approaching our work and the music scene a bit differently. I’m really excited to share more on this! Our annual 9th anniversary show is on Feb 7th at The Sunset and our lineup will be announced soon. It’s going to be a whole new kind of musical journey that night. Stay tuned.
