Lake Placid World Cup 🇺🇸💫🕺

Friday brought some of the hardest conditions I’ve ever ridden in. With the jumps closed most of the day, Saturday morning’s one-hour practice was our only chance to hit the features before racing. I definitely went into yesterday a little hesitant, so I’m really proud that I managed to hit almost all of them!

My race run was probably the most eventful run I’ve ever had. I went way off track, had to run back up, then decided to let the rider behind me pass since I’d already been stopped for so long… only to catch her again further down. It basically turned into a 2-cross race! Looking back, I definitely shouldn’t have waited, but in the moment it felt like the right call.

A crazy World Cup experience, but so much learned and so much to be proud of! And most of all, I’m so happy I got to experience this whole weekend with @anais.trudelle by my side! 👯‍♀️💖

Thank you to @cyclingcanadaofficial for giving me the opportunity to race alongside the fastest girls in the world and to @melanie.loranger.1 @nicolasp1405 and @mattrudelle for the support all weekend long!

La Coupe du monde est lancée à Lake Placid! 🌟

Track walk complété hier et premières heures de pratique ce matin pour @mia.gariepy et @anais.trudelle. Beaucoup de pluie, de bouette et une piste qui ne pardonne pas! 🌧️

Encore un bloc de pratique cet après-midi pour peaufiner les lignes et se rapprocher du rythme de course!

P3 at nationals🇨🇦

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t after that sleeve, but I can’t be mad. Really happy with how the race went — felt good to show some pace in the physical stages and take the win in the 3 most physical ones. Just lacked a bit of commitment in the rougher sections. I simply loved racing in front of the homies on the sickest @bromont_montagne trails.

Props and thanks to the boys for the battle @hudonandy @nolanweiss45, you guys were riding insane.

Big weekend @bromont_montagne So incredibly happy to have earned the sleeve for another year🍁
Full circle moment as this race last year was my first in the rainbows and now my last before world champs. This season has been amazing, challenging, and gratifying in so many ways.
I feel like I can’t repeat it enough but I am so grateful to get to do this job and cannot thank my team, friends, family enough for sharing with me.

Special to get to bring my @cyclesdevinci Spartan back to her homeland and do her proud, and @shimanomtb for keeping her running crisply on race day.
Thank you my team for the support this weekend, all year and always.

Quel week-end! 🔥 Un immense bravo à tous les nouveaux champions canadiens et à tous les coureurs qui sont venus donner leur maximum sur la montagne. 🏆

On veut aussi prendre un moment pour dire un énorme MERCI à toutes les personnes qui ont rendu ce week-end possible — nos incroyables bénévoles, signaleurs, officiels, membres de l’équipe, clubs, entraîneurs, partenaires et commanditaires, ainsi qu’à Bromont pour nous avoir accueillis et soutenus tout au long de l’événement. Votre temps, votre énergie, votre soutien et votre passion sont ce qui a permis à ce championnat de voir le jour.

Et bien sûr, merci à tous les coureurs, familles, amis et spectateurs qui sont venus encourager, courir et contribuer à créer une ambiance incroyable tout au long du week-end. 🇨🇦❤️
