It may have been a little bit of a rough start on Day 1, but these boys came out with a vengeance on Day 2 and went 5-0 to win our Pool 👏🏼

As always, Deep South brings out great competition & we were able to wrestle against teams from Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia & Louisiana. The best part is, we accomplished this with kids that train regularly at GZ & deserve the opportunities that we are able to give 💪🏼

A big thanks goes out to the parents, families & coaches that continue to support us! We had a great cheering section all weekend long & their unwavering support means the world to us! Also, thanks to all the area HS teams that share their kids & trust us to help in thir progression. We had wrestlers from Coffee County, Warren County, Tullahoma, Riverdale & Eagleville 🤼‍♂️

Lastly, a special shout-out to our 3 wrestlers that achieved Deep South All-American status, Jaylan Clayton & Houston Rettig going 9-0 & Camdyn Odineal going 8-1 🏅

Tough day on the mats going 1-3, but we battled throughout & Iove the effort of our kids. We will be back tomorrow for more and I am excited to see the way these kids bounce back! 💪🏼

Special congrats goes out to Jaylan Clayton & Houston Rettig for both going undefeated and being 4-0 on the day 👏🏼

4 YEARS…BLOOD, SWEAT, & TEARS !
THANK YOU @dhhs.devildogs ❤️‼️

Thank you first to every young man that took my style of coaching and didn’t fold, so many of you guys rose to every challenge and workout I put in front of you no matter what. I told you if you wanted different we had to be willing to do different and the results speak for themselves. Thank you to the parents for letting me keep the boys late game planning and practicing, weekend workouts, 6am morning workouts , etc. Thank you to my AD Coach George & Coach Green for giving me the opportunity to grow as Offensive Coordinator for DHHS Football.

As I reflect, to see this program go from 0-10 the year before to competing at the level we got too these last 4 seasons is truly amazing . Who ever thought in year 1 Druid Hills could win our first game against McNair after being down 14 at half time ? I DID! Who thought in year 2 we would go 8-1-1 and make history ( Non Region) ? I DID shoulda been 10-0! Who would have thought in year 3 we would have one of the best RBs & WR in the county and region and two D1 signees should have been 4 ? I DID! Who would have thought kids from Druid Hills could get football scholarships from all levels even D1 ? I DID!

What started as why would he go there ? Ain’t no talent over there, look at the history of the program blah blah to oh shit them boys over there will line up punch you in the mouth for 4 quarters and gone fight till the death. It really was #ANewDayOnDaHill 🙌🏽
Life lesson never let the crowd noise control your destiny , what god has for you no man can take away.

But all good things come to an end and just because situations/coaches etc. change doesn’t mean what was done will be erased. Love y’all boys 4 L ‼️

Harp OUT ✌🏼
