Cast Spotlight: Hudson James Esch 🦠

Hudson James Esch is a New York-based multihyphenate who strives to foster authentic connection through her storytelling. She is a proud Dance Performance alum of Oklahoma City University.
An avid adventurer due to numerous military moves, Hudson has been lucky to spend her professional career exploring the U.S.! Most recently, Hudson made her professional musical theatre debut as Joan in “Dames At Sea” at the Butte Theater in Colorado, and she will be an onstage swing for the Orlando residency of “POMP, SNOW, & CIRQUEumstance” this holiday season. She was also a soloist/swing for Marquee Nashville and a tap teacher and choreographer alongside Steve Edlund (“Mrs. Doubtfire,” “Shucked”) at Belvoir Terrace in Lenox, Massachusetts.
Hudson is incredibly grateful for the opportunity to tie her passions for tap dance and theatre together in “Secrets on Floor 13”!

#ThursdayTapThrowback:

In February 2002, @oklahomacityuniversity’s @okcudance_ awarded nine tap masters Honorary Doctor of Performing Arts in American Dance degrees.

Dr. James “Buster” Brown (5.17.1913 - 5.7.2002) was one of them. It’s a good thing OKCU awarded him this degree when they did, because three months later, he was gone.

This was the Baltimore-born Dr. Brown performing “All The Things” at the Cotton Club Gala on TV Netherlands in 1977.

Congratulations to MSA alum Hudson K. James Esch, who is currently making her regional theater debut as Joan in Dames at Sea at the Butte Theater!

After graduating from Oklahoma City University, Hudson has been building her musical theater career in New York City, and we're so excited to see her take this next step.

We're proud of you, Hudson, and can't wait to see what's next!
