Swipe for some sweet throwback memories. A few months ago, I added something to my prayer list. I had been praying that God would open the door for at least three PR features. Not for validation, but for credibility. For the opportunity to introduce Hueman Sol to new audiences and continue building a brand people could discover, trust, and believe in. Within six months, He answered that prayer. Three features (2 in Voyage Dallas and 1 in Bold Journey Magazine). I know these aren’t the biggest publications in the world, but they’re a big stepping stone for me. Every “yes” is building toward the next one, and every opportunity is a reminder that God is faithful in the small things before He entrusts us with bigger ones. As I looked at these articles, I couldn’t help but think about the journey that brought me here. From Moriah Lark, Miss Hampton University, to nearly a decade at ESPN and the NBA, to becoming Moriah Jacobs, founder of Hueman Sol. Life has looked different in every season, but the thread has always been the same: telling stories, building community, and creating something that leaves people better than I found them. Ironically, I almost didn’t share these. I was in the final stages of interviewing for a corporate role, and a part of me worried these articles might make someone question my commitment. So I considered staying quiet. Then I realized something. If an opportunity God had for me required me to hide the dream He was already bringing to life, maybe it wasn’t the opportunity meant for me. I didn’t get the job. And I’m okay with that. Because sometimes God answers one prayer while gently redirecting another. These features are more than press. They’re reminders that the dream He placed on my heart is still worth pursuing. And maybe that’s the real headline. 🤎

What Turning 35 Taught Me That 25Couldn’t: 35 has been less about arriving and more about becoming. These aren’t rules for life. They’re simply a few lessons I earned over the last ten years. Some I learned the hard way. Some I’m still learning. But every single one has made me a little wiser, a little softer, and a little more grateful for the journey. Here’s to becoming. ☀️

Melanin by the Sea was created as a love letter to Hampton — our Home by the Sea. With the Pirates taking the court in the NBA HBCU Classic, I wanted to send a little love to a few Hamptonians in LA. A piece to wear. A little self-care to try. A reminder of the legacy we carry. Good Luck Tonight, Pirates! ⚓💙 #MelaninByTheSea #HamptonUniversity #NBAHBCUClassic
