That’s all folks, but before we say Adios to season five, we wanted to bring on one last special guest; Someone we have been wanting to feature in the series for a very long time, it’s none other than Trujillo! Andrés Astorga, known professionally as Trujillo, is a Venezuelan producer, DJ and record collector based in Ibiza. No matter which continent Trujillo performs on, he brings heat, passion and a unique style. Beyond his long-standing career as a music producer and DJ, he has also gained recognition as a dedicated crate-digger and vinyl collector, known for curating successful music compilations. Recently, the acclaimed British label Soundway released Ritmo Fantasía, a compilation curated by Trujillo featuring Spanish synth-pop, boogie, and balearic house tracks from 1982-1992. The compilation showcases a selection of obscure Spanish tracks that were played in Ibiza back in the day and has achieved global success. Check out Discogs for the 3xLP, or Bandcamp for the digital bundle: discogs.com/release/21308809-Various-Ritmo-Fantasía-Balearic-Spanish-Synth-Pop-Boogie-House-1982-1992 soundwayrecords.bandcamp.com/album/ritmo-fantas-a-balearic-spanish-synth-pop-boogie-and-house-1982-1992-compiled-by-dj-trujillo Trujillo has crafted a superb mix for The Sun Room. A master of eclectic selection, his mix, entitled ‘Time Chaser’, starts with some moody and soulful Spanish guitar records, building gradually to more uptempo styles of jazz-funk and boogie. It’s an exceptionally well put-together mix, and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do! A big thanks to Trujillo for finding the time to record this awesome mix for the series Link in bio

New mix up on the Soundcloud from Stan. Part III of a little series. More unashamedly thumping than the last, it goes around the houses with lots of nice bits on there, including Extrawelt, Terrance Parker, Natural Magic, Hugh Mane and JPYE. Part II also up on the Soundcloud page, Part I on Dream Chimney. Link in Bio…

Highlighting here the Barrabas’ Woman Edit on the recent Echoes of Love & Desire release. If you haven’t yet checked it out , there’s a beautifully stemmed and dubbed-out version of Woman, a massive 1975 loft classic with the Barrabas sound on the flip. My earlier post claimed I’d stuck to the original arrangement, I had to check again cos someone pointed out I had in fact made an extension. Guess it sounded decent as I’d forgot all about it. See if you can spot it. This is the OG on the post, so to check the dubbed version LIB as always.

Oh what do we have here a new stupid human release, Two masterful edits of stone-cold classics Somebody to Love and Barrabas’ Woman. This is Echoes of Love and Desire. Less is more in every way here, a simple, elegant blend of Sylvester’s original vocal, subliminally dubbed over Blackjoy’s equally sublime overlooked rework of the classic. On the flip, there’s a beautifully stemmed and dubbed-out version of Woman by Barrabas. Sticking to the original arrangement and length but dubbed for maximum presentation to bring a new perspective. For those of a certain persuasion, these are two very special and extremely playable tracks. Lib 😎 tip FFWD to 4:08 for the smoking gun. Or just listen to the whole thing because it killer

Pick of the Week! Released in 2018, on @adultcontemporary , @hugh_mane 's ‘Real Sucker For Your Love’ has 3 slick and direct productions for a variety of settings. From poolside cocktails to late night bar systems, this EP steps up the heat with each track. ‘Real Sucker For Your love’ - A live recorded track twisted around a sequenced baseline and spacious electro-disco pads. ‘The Way of the Gospels’ - Rhythmically reminiscent of the boom clap drums from a Motown record, with ace percussion and an ace mini-moog style baseline to top it off. ‘Flight Cover’ - Celebrates chubby but not overkilled bass on drums. It still holds onto the floaty vibe of the other two tracks but with more meat on the bones. Something for later at night. If you like the sound of this one, get down to pick it up before it’s gone! Our records are re-stocked regularly by @meanhood.co as well as our own curation.
