My youngest has always wanted to dress up as his favourite characters.

Now he’s older, he still wants to “dress up” to celebrate his favourite characters in books. He has to have as much of the merchandise as he can.. he likes to fully celebrate them - it’s not “just” reading the book.

It started by dressing up as a Gruffalo.. but swipe to the right to see how it progressed....

Dog Man

He’s a MASSIVE fan of Dog Man ( some might say he’s obsessed!) everything he can find Dog Man related on, he has to “Have”. We’ve also been to see @dogmanthemusicaluk twice, which he absolutely loved.

📚National Read a Book Day 2026 Part 2 📚

It’s National Read a Book Day - a day to step out of daily routine and get lost in a book.

My youngest has just finished Ghost and Toast by @squidlingking and is currently reading Tiny Hurcules Golden Cabbage Chaos by @jonlockcomics and @nichangell … what book are you reading?

My youngest again, loves to read anywhere and everywhere he can - he especially loves Graphic Novels, but, he found his love of Cringe Club this summer - he read the entire series within a few weeks.

Some of my youngest’s favourite books (series) are as follows. However, if I let him choose them all.. the stack would be as high as the ceiling 😂

What my eldest read during week three of the holidays.

Ever since my eldest read The Diary of a Spider-Man by @nedhartleywriter , he’s been obsessed with Spider-Man 😂

Last weekend, we took a trip to London to see Dog Man the Musical.. but of course with all our trips, we crammed in loads more stuff around it!
The boys were extremely lucky to see seven authors/artists throughout the trip and bump into another one!

We went to @goshcomics and my eldest was on cloud nine when he saw how many different Spider-Man comics there are - of course, he had to leave with one!
He also read Star Breakers( loved) before our comic workshop and was finally introduced to Hilda before meeting @thatlukeperson .

This week he’s read
📚Beano Betty and Yeti Disasters of Disguise by @hugh_raine
📚The Hilda Adventures Volume One by @thatlukeperson
📚Star Breakers Zeke Zero vs The Galaxy by Ed Caruana and @brotacon
📚Spider- Man Cosmic Chaos by @mikemaihack
📚Dracula and Daughters School for Slayers by @emcarrollauthor
📚The Amazing Spider-Man Get Back up by Joe Kelly, Pepe Larraz and Marte Gracias
📚and he’s going into next week reading Medusa Gorgons Deadly Side Eye by @bethanywwriter

I wonder what else he will read next week…

What a brilliant couple of days!

Our summer this year is made up of lots of mini trips - The last two days we have been in a bookish bubble in London.

We’ve walked 15 miles over two days, we been to

📚We started @piccadillywaterstones for a StarBreakers Zeke Zero vs The Galaxy comic workshop
📚loved the @dogmanthemusicaluk
📚literally ran to Selfridges when the jubilee line went down to catch our special surprise for my eldest for some amazing results, A Jelly Cat Fish and Chip Experience
📚Whizzed on the underground to get to Westfields for the Toy Story 5 experience
📚Today, we went back to @piccadillywaterstones for the BoneHead Workshop with @jamiegregory.writes
📚Before running across to @goshcomics for their kids festival to see @hugh_raine , @thatlukeperson and @jamiesmartdraws ( we spoke to @tormalore just before she went in, lovely to speak to you again)

Now home and collapsed 😂 a brilliant trip - but an exhausting one..

The boys only bought three books with a book token they had, @erinhunterbooks Warriors book 1 graphic novel , Warriors Ravenpaw’s Path and my eldest’s first Spider Man comic thanks for the inspiration @nedhartleywriter ! ( his latest book: A Diary of Spider- Man inspired my eldest to all of a sudden be obsessed with anything Spider- Man 🕷️😂)
