They don’t make homes with this kind of character anymore.

Set on the 13th fairway of the UT Golf Club in Steiner Ranch, this home blends timeless craftsmanship with the kind of spaces people actually want to live in. Soaring ceilings, incredible woodwork, a media room made for game days, and a backyard that makes you want to stay awhile.

Several months ago, I signed up for the Creative Careers program at @austinfilm on a whim and got in. The quality of classes was only superseded by the quality of people I met alongside them. Connecting with Navya Chintaman & Hugo Wong felt serendipitous. We had separate but parallel skillsets we knew we could combine into something special, so we dug into one of my sketch comedy scripts and set out to put it on camera.

In casting, we picked up the talented Natalia Rubio, Spencer Pruitt, and Ashley Hufford whose humor and comedic choices brought the script to life in a way I could not have written in 2D. I’m grateful to Elliot Palmer for coming onboard and making the short sound amazing.

I’m thankful for Navya (who does not have social media in a way I admire) who I got to watch step into her director pants, throwing out ideas and confidently calling for new shots as the day went on. And I have to thank Hugo for wearing the most hats out of any of us: Director of Photography, Editor, Co-Director, and i’m sure a few other terms I’m forgetting because I don’t know as much about film as him. Seriously - if you work in film in Austin, TX, you want to hire Hugo.

We shot back in December and while we struggled around the corners of a 450 square foot apartment, the day was a dream. Everyone showed up ready to work, have fun, and tell a silly little story that I hope makes you laugh. I’m sharing a few clips to give you a taste, and I hope you’ll mark your calendars for the full project premiere next week. ✨
