Surviving gun violence is only the beginning of an incredibly complex journey that no one should have to walk in isolation. Survivors must not only process the trauma of the violence they experienced but also adapt to a completely new reality: living with a disability. The State has an inescapable obligation to guarantee their protection and provide comprehensive guidance through both processes, ensuring this transition is not faced in abandonment.

True reparation is impossible without guaranteed access to the right to healthcare, physical rehabilitation, and ongoing mental health support. We demand that the State fulfill its responsibility to provide the necessary tools so that every survivor can rebuild their life with dignity, justice, and their rights fully protected.

My body is living testimony to the irreversible damage that a firearm can cause. As a woman with a disability, a survivor, and an activist, every day I reaffirm my commitment to fight so that no other person has to experience gun violence.
We cannot normalize firearms in our communities; my wheelchair is a constant reminder that we need to change our reality.
Being part of the global Humanium Metal project shows us that it is possible to transform pain into hope and move toward a secure future. Global disarmament is not a utopia, it is an urgency.

A single gunshot takes only a second, but its aftermath alters my body and my life forever. Today, I raise my voice not just as a gun violence survivor, but as a woman with a disability and a leader in motion.
The ultimate challenge is to break the silence and drive urgent global awareness to reduce the use and circulation of firearms. No destiny should ever be defined by bullets.
In alliance with global initiatives that turn the metal of destruction into tools for life, I issue an urgent call to build secure, barrier-free communities.
Surviving is not enough: it is time to lead the change, dismantle prejudices, and protect everyone's future. The time to act is now!

I drew these unusable guns in a surrealism class and I really wanted to post abt the material. @humaniummetal takes seized illegal guns and break the metals down into a powder. I had the opportunity to use that compressed powder as a tool for these drawings. That’s what the gray pigment is from. It was really cool and sad to use, and I really respect @humaniummetal ‘s message to turn violence and hardship into hope.

I had the opportunity to design jewelry made from melted weapons together w @humaniummetal @theismmanual

Humanium Metal transforms illegal firearms seized by authorities into metal, turning weapons into symbols of peace.

I don’t think I’ve seen the world this dark in a long time. This project is dedicated to all those who have lost their lives to gun violence, to the loved ones they left behind, and to my friends whose lives were taken by gun violence.
