08-2024. work for @pinceyreyes

https://humansoundsrecords.bandcamp.com/album/suns-the-same

drawings and full on mf design for “sun’s the same”, an EP by Pincey

fun fact: Pincey had reached out looking for album art for his single “When It’s Too Late.” When I had sent the finished drawing + design for the single (the St. Sebastian figure)- he looked at it and told me that he felt like the art I had made couldn’t just be for a single track. A week or so later he got back to me with 4 more completed songs, and had me make an additional more simple drawing + design for the initial song as part of a small rollout.

First time my work had ever expanded another artist’s project beyond its initial finished state. One for the books.

Had fun working on this one, and it turned out excellent. Thanks to @pinceyreyes and @humansoundsrecords for trusting the vision and building it with me and bringing it to life.

I believe you can still get some.

PS: P had sent me the painting of Saint Sebastian as a reference. Last slide is Louise Bourgeois 1992 painting of the same subject.

#8 renaissance- Travis Bretzer

Travis Bretzer's fifth studio album "renaissance" (2022) is his most chill yet. Bretzer's vocals remind me of a combination of Mac Demarco & Brad Stank. His soothing vocals combined with the low key guitar melodies create the album's relaxing vibe. Before this, Bretzer has been able to create high energy indie rock, this is his first attempt at bedroom pop, and he has nailed it.

A chill album from start to finish. This is a great album to throw on for a rainy day.

Rating: 7.5/10
Cover Rating: 6/10
Best Songs: Gonna Rain, Where's Your Love?, Passing By, renaissance
Runtime: 29 Minutes

We are excited to announce Mr. Husband’s album ‘Kinny Bouquet’ will be HSR-60 and begins shipping TODAY! Check it out at the link in the bio and look below for a message from @mrhusband2u with some additional details on the album!

“New assorted tunes from yr old pal, Kinny. MY old pal, the cuddly cosmic cowboy Michael Nau (@mnau), helped me out on several of these and I really love him for it. In December 2019, right before the the great toilet paper panic, we had a nice weekend at home recording and hanging and singing George Jones songs on his tiny parlor piano. Somewhere in there a seed was planted which grew into this lovely Kinny Bouquet over the next year or so which I am pleased to offer you now, dearest listener.
Bless your heart for listening. Get out there and be somebody!”
