Music publishers, songwriters, and rights holders listen up: we are at a critical juncture. The DSPs are flooded with endless slop AI “covers” (though I prefer to call them illegal derivatives) and many of them are earning significant money without paying the owners of the work. If you run into this, resist the urge to accept this is a legal “cover” so long as they update the pub line. They took your royalties, your master, and used AI to create endless alternate versions to compete against you. This must require an express license every time. Period.

HumanStandard is an AI-music detection company founded by musician and software engineer Rasha Rahman, built to help determine whether recordings are human-made, AI-generated, or a mixture of both. As generative music systems become increasingly capable, HumanStandard is positioning its technology as a verification layer for artists, labels, distributors, rights holders, and streaming platforms.

Rather than simply returning a binary “AI” or “human” answer, HumanStandard says its technology analyzes multiple signals and can identify synthetic, human, and hybrid characteristics within a recording. Its current platform can separately assess elements such as vocals, lyrics, and instrumentals, while its enterprise tools provide AI-likelihood scores and other signals intended to help companies review large music catalogs.

what if you could steal a song directly, transform it using ai, and profit off it as a new song? and what if you are the artist who had their song stolen and royalties diverted from them? all is possible and a trouble with ai derivatives that are unauthorized. humanstandard and checksong is made so that people can form evidence for their cases they dmca or ask for remix license. fyi, we dont recommend you commit fraud and do the steps, we just said it to show you how easy it is to do.
