After foraging in the woods, our participants returned to Razhek to start painting. With guidance from Team Lakir in light and color theory through colour mixing, they created observational studies of their surroundings. Check out a glimpse of the workshop!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the painting workshop at Razhek, Hunza in collaboration with Lakir!

We had a lovely time foraging for materials and exploring together through the forest. Here’s a glimpse of the experience before the painting begins!

Last week Awami Art Collective was invited for a guest lecture at Beaconhouse National University for SVAD @bnu_svad_official / Mariam Dawood School of Visual Arts & Design for the course ‘Art Collectives And The Power Of We: Yesterday And Tomorrow’, instructed by Fatima Butt & Fatima Faisal Qureshi @ffaisalq @fatimabutt6215 who runs their very own collective ‘hum-sar’ @humsarofficial

The presented members of Awami Art Collective talked about the efforts of Art Collectives based within South Asia, particularly delvinginto the Pakistani social structures and issues, the lecture will outline the narratives and shared goals that results in the making of Pakistani Art Collectives. The discussion also outlined the results and impacts that collective have had in the past and continue to have today with their works.

We are thankful to ‘ham-sar’ for thinking about our work and letting us share our process of making, the hierarchical structure within the members, the dispersion of expertise and ideas through our working experiences and the executions of our final projects. We hope that students got some benefit of our talk and enjoyed the session as much we did.

Kaleido Kontemporary gallery’s inaugural show ‘Small Works,’ featuring the work of 40 artists. The exhibition challenges the notion that size dictates artistic significance through a showcase of works of a smaller physical scale. Small art, big impact.
