🏔️ yellowstone. our second national park on the drive to Boise. 🚗 somewhere along the road trip, we stopped worrying so much about getting there and started soaking up everything in between. 🌲 Yellowstone gave us mountain views that didn’t seem real, wildlife around every corner, and one of my favorite surprises of the trip… meeting up with friends from Ohio in the middle of the park. It’s funny how you can drive halfway across the country and still find a little piece of home. 🤎 Looking back, I don’t remember every mile. I remember the conversations, the views that made us pull over, and watching Gregor take in a place that was brand new to both of us. ✨ Somewhere between Ohio and Idaho, the drive became so much more than a move. 🏔️ And honestly… I think Montana stole a little piece of our hearts. I already can’t wait to go back dana @butfirstwest leash @hunddenmark

🛘 badlands with my baddie. i’ve learned that the best part of a road trip isn’t always the destination. it’s sharing every mile with a dog who’s just happy to be by your side. Badlands was the first national park we stopped at on our cross-country road trip, and watching gregor explore a place that was brand new to both of us is a memory i’ll hold onto for a long time. there isn’t a bad bone in this boy’s body. just one very good dog who made every mile from Ohio to Idaho feel like part of the adventure. 📋 one national park down & many more to go.

✍🏻in honor of gregor’s birthday this week, i thought i’d share how he got his name. before he came home, there were a lot of names on the list. his breeder called him Rally. i almost went with a few others. but i kept coming back to one: gregor. it’s a nod to his breeds scottish heritage, a name i had picked out long before i ever met him, and somehow it fit him perfectly from day one. two years later, i can’t imagine him being called anything else. 🎂happy almost birthday to the long snoot.
