Birmingham, Kayal has arrived.

We are officially open on Newhall Street, right in the centre of the city, next door to the BT Tower.

At Kayal, we bring the warmth, flavour and soul of Kerala to the table. Our food is different from the usual Indian dining experience, rooted in Kerala’s coastal traditions, built around fresh spices, coconut, curry leaves, seafood, slow-cooked meats and recipes passed down through generations. It is rich, comforting, fragrant and full of character.

Our new Birmingham restaurant also offers a beautiful private event space, perfect for birthdays, family gatherings, corporate dinners, celebrations and any special occasion that deserves something memorable.

Kayal, where tradition meets quality.

Now open in Birmingham. Come experience Kerala, the Kayal way.

I didn’t just share these recipes 👉🏼I rebuilt them from scratch for you ❤️

Good morning & happy Christmas baking season 🎄

I wanted to share something special today. These are traditional German Christmas cookie recipes that originally lived as HANDWRITTEN NOTES in German.

So for this post, I:

✨ translated everything into English
✨ converted grams → cups so they’re easier to follow
✨ and turned them into digital, step-by-step recipe cards you can actually save and bake from

All of it done so you can have beautiful, stress-free Christmas baking, even last minute 🎄

Inside this carousel you’ll find 4 classic cookies you’ll bake every year:
• Vanilla Crescent Cookies (Vanillekipferl)
• Cinnamon Stars (Zimtsterne)
• Soft Gingerbread Cookies (Lebkuchen Cookies)
• Classic Sugar Cookies (Plätzchen)

Whether you’re baking today, tomorrow, or saving these for next Christmas — I hope these recipes bring a little warmth into your kitchen 🤍

✨ Which one are you baking first?

📌 Save this post for later
🍪 Share it with your holiday baking buddy
