This weekend was the most American experience I’ve had since moving here.

Yes, there were cookouts, fireworks, country music, and all the traditions I’d always imagined. But when I look back on the weekend, those aren’t the things I’ll remember most.

I’ll remember the people.

Watching friends, families, and neighbors come together reminded me that America isn’t just built on traditions - it’s ‘We The People’. It’s built on opening your home, pulling up another chair, making someone feel welcome, and creating memories together.

As someone who left Australia to start over, that’s something that means more to me than I can put into words.

I’ve spent months trying to understand what it really means to become American. I thought it was about learning the holidays, the culture, and the traditions.

Now I think those things are just the beginning.

What really makes America special is the people behind them.

This weekend, I didn’t just get to celebrate the Fourth of July.

For the first time, I truly felt like I was part of it.

And that’s a feeling I’ll never forget.

Haven’t posted in a minute so here’s a new photo dump

I have met so many amazing people over the last 2 months, and we’ve been having so much fun that I don’t have photos with 90% of everyone who’s changed my life so significantly.

But real talk, I have never experienced so much love and support from everyone around me and I’m truly blessed to have everyone. Appreciate all of you putting up with my crazy drunk ass, and more recently my boring sober ass 😆
