Beyond honored to be closing out the first annual Flocktoberfest this weekend with a group of people who are not only my dear friends, but also some of Knoxville’s finest musicians.
Dolly Parton had a profound effect on me as a singer-songwriter, musician, and truly as a person. I mean, I used to be habitually late, but after hearing her say in an interview a few years back that tardiness was her one pet peeve, I have made a real effort to change my ways. It’s not always easy, but all we can do is try our best to be as good and decent as someone like Dolly. I don’t know if she ever struggled to do the right thing, say the right words, or sing the right notes, but she sure did make it look easy.
The friends I’m playing with this Sunday do just that… they make it look easy, and it’s such a pleasure to be playing and singing these songs with them. Come out this Sunday and enjoy the Dolly Parton classics that you know and love, and maybe hear a few that didn’t make it to the radio.

Also, if you’re just now hearing this word, FLOCKTOBERFEST, for the first time, it’s happening ALL WEEKEND at Flock, and it’s gonna be a non-stop party, with great beer, delicious food, and amazing music, starting Friday night with the Tennessee Sheiks, and continuing through Saturday and Sunday. Be sure to check out the full lineup on the @flockbeerwine page, and come out for all the things! See you there!
