Simplicity in life is so incredibly undervalued. I can’t wait to find myself “lost” in nature and mesmerized by the simple, yet profound.

If you’re looking for a bit of solitude to recharge your battery this summer, consider a trip with us. We would love your company. ⬇️⬇️⬇️

I have to say, I am really enjoying this book written by my friend, @hunter57319 👏 The book title is, “Thirty Rites of Passage,” and I think it’s titled perfectly. I love these words from the back cover, pictured above. I am one who also enjoys a much deeper dive into the full picture and history of where I’m standing when I fish a creek or river. Henry David Thoreau, perhaps, penned it best when he wrote, “many men go fishing all of their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after.” Hunter has masterfully woven the meaning of Thoreau’s words into stories about his fishing journeys into some of Americas most unique waters.
.
I am only partway through this delightful read, but it’s one that should be in your library. I have especially enjoyed reading about some of my Northern Michigan home waters; and I’ve even learned a great deal about them I did not previously know. Thanks Hunter!

You have to look close, but there was an epic hatch going on when I snapped this photo. The fishing that evening was one for the ages. I can’t wait to go back! 😎💯

Learn to notice and appreciate the small. In an industry that all too often jumps to ask, “how big was it?, be the one who asks, “how beautiful was it?”

For those anglers targeting Apache Trout or Gila Trout in Arizona, the Arizona Game and Fish Department (@azgfd )asks they please take the time to fill out their survey form after each fishing trip targeting Apache Trout or Gila Trout. The form collects information on when and where anglers fished for Apache Trout or Gila Trout, the type of fishing gear they used, and how many fish they caught. Filling out this survey is completely voluntary and responses are completely anonymous. This information will be used by the Arizona Game and Fish Department to better manage Apache Trout and Gila Trout in Arizona.

The survey link can be found in our bio.

The Arizona Game and Fish Department also sponsors its own Arizona Trout Challenge, a complementary opportunity for you to explore trout fishing in some of the most scenic areas in Arizona. Enjoy!
