There is an amazing flea market at the Eastern State Penitentiary in the Fairmount section of Philadelphia today. There are hundreds of vendors selling jewelry, clothing, records, antiques, modern design, furniture, and home decor.

Such a beautiful piece from my friend Steve of @huntergathererprops
Possibly from the 50s or 60s. Love this typeface and so cool seeing screen printing from back then.

It’s a throwback for Dave Moser’s final day. We rewind to 2021 when he photographed Todd Carmichael, CEO and co-founder of US coffee roaster and retailer, La Colombe, for Philadelphia Magazine. The feature looked at Carmichael setting his sights on a different beverage: sparkling water.

“Todd Carmichael is a man with many visions. In case you haven’t met Todd or read his Wikipedia page, he’s an amazing human being who walks the walk and also makes a killer cup of coffee. Amongst his many accomplishments, he's a co-founder of La Colombe Coffee, he's crossed the Sahara and Gobi Deserts...on foot, holds a world record for solo trekking across Antarctica, hosted shows on the Travel Channel, and adopted four children from Ethiopia with his wife.

“This was my second time photographing Todd and he only puts 100% into everything he does. He was enthusiastic in working with me on the composite as well as the bubble shot - working alongside us and sharing our excitement for the concept and images.

“With his new venture Loftiwater, Todd is wearing all the hats, essentially starting from scratch. I wanted to illustrate how Loftiwater started as a one-person operation with Todd conceiving and executing the entire breakthrough in sparkling water. We borrowed and rented several props to make this playful image more nostalgic.

“For the bubble image, we started with a basic concept and sketch from our art director, and with a remote bubble machine, some lighting, and Todd's willingness to play, we were able to craft this image. The entire idea behind this was to portray a "cloud" of bubbles around the subject, a call to the taste and mouthfeel of his sparkling water.”
