Otherly Love presents Volume 2 of the bella ciao bella ciao Sessions, this time as a tribute to Thelonious Sphere Monk. Recorded in the same session as Vol. 01, the track features Joshua White, Chris Speed, Eric Revis, and Dave King performing Monk’s composition “Boo Boo’s Birthday”, taking the song’s structure to exciting new heights.

“I appreciate your openness to this tribute arm of the bella ciao bella ciao series. I will forever be a fanboy, so it’s a treat to honor all these mystical figures. There are more exciting sessions in the pipeline - including some mind-blowing, untethered improv sessions from names we can’t wait to share with you, as well as further tributes to longtime inspirations Robert Wyatt, Don Cherry, Sun Ra, and Bill Frisell. Stay tuned and keep your ears open: ¡music is good!”

! Room to Room is out today ! my favourite song on this upcoming record. I wrote it from the perspective of one of my childhood dogs after his son died. it took 2 hours to write and we recorded it the next day. it arrived perfectly, like my boys (seen above) — memorialised in musical and video form to gallop together forever

play it for your dogs. play WITH your dogs. we almost deserve them

thanks to these puppies for joining me on the porch:
@samuelskinner - guitar and bass
@mungertheo - drums
@i_stalling_ - guitar and lap steel
Steve Skinner - piano
@julesooles - harmonies

big thanks to @huntleymiller for mastering and to @mungere @jjgunnar and @bronwynjford for helping me with the video

I love what we made, I hope the feeling is mutual

LOVE LETTERS / WAS THE ONE

new DOUBLE single out today (from my Dreamin’ Of album coming out iAugust 21) on @righteousbabe

both songs streaming worldwide in all the places
🤯and link to all the places in bio ⏳

and can there ever be enough love letters!?

this Love Letters song is definitely another love letter —-> to all the musicians and artists out there who keep me holding on...thank you 💌

I wrote this song one night after reading some love letters (in a magazine!) from musicians and artists to the city of Los Angeles...reading those love letters got me reflecting on some of my own mystical music times in Los Angeles; but the letters also got me thinking about NYC - where I lived for some amazing years - and played my first show ever (at @sunnysbar.redhook ❤️‍🔥)

so this music video filmed just last week in NYC is a Love Letter, too --- to New York City where I always feel at home and un-alone in a good way...and i'm still feeling the magic of being in NYC last week...the @nyknicks... @wutangclan...some unity...so good to feel just now...and all the love letters in plain sight...(link to full vid in bio too...)

also want to take this moment to say thank you again to all the fans and friends that have sent and handed me handwritten letters in recent years…can you know how much they mean to me?? x

Love Letters was made with these musicians and engineers that i love ---> S.Carey, Mike Lewis, Jeremy Ylvisaker, and Romain Collin…recorded by Zach Hansen and mixed by Brett Bullion…Mastered by Huntley Miller...

Was The One was made with S.Carey, Mike Lewis, Jeremy Ylvisaker…recorded and mixed by Brett Bullion…Mastered by Huntley Miller
