The biggest highlight of the Big Ohio Book Con for me was at the VIP event. There were two panels and during the panel with TJ Klune, he was talking about his next book and that the inspiration came from when he was lying on the floor; unable to get up, with his Velcro dog and listening to a Britney Spears song. And that said Velcro dog was going to be the basis of the main character of the new book. My favorite characters have always been the creatures and animals. Especially if they can talk. I told my best friend @hupp_into_reading that when the new book comes out I’m going to have to buy it immediately. After the panel there was a signing and I officially met TJ Klune in person. It was my first time meeting him and talking to him. And he is such a kind down to earth soul. While I was talking to him, I mentioned that I was sad that the new book wasn’t out yet and I couldn’t get it signed at the event. I asked him if he would be doing a signing event in Ohio (because no one ever willingly comes to Ohio unless they have to) when the new book releases. He grabs his bag and pulls out the ARC for the book and tells me it’s his last copy and that I get to read it 8 months before anyone else and signs it. I was at a loss for words. Nothing like that has ever happened to me and I was so excited and touched. He even showed me a picture of his adorable dog with his one flopped over ear and how he was on the cover of the book. He didn’t have to do that, but he did. And that is the type of person that he is and that is why he is such a beloved author. I am eternally grateful and this book will have a place of importance on my shelf for forever. And when the book officially comes out, it’ll sit proudly next to its brother.

I told myself that I was going to @blackcatmedina Big Ohio Book Con to just vibe; since @hupp_into_reading and I just got back from the hellscape of BookCon NY and our first time at Apollycon and that I was under NO circumstances buying any more books. In the wise words of Maury Povich, “That was determined to be a lie.” I did so good until the last panel of the con with @dl.jennings @krisreneeauthor @sarahforesterdavis @elladeviouslee and ended up with 5 new indie books. But I have my reasons! 1 book keeps getting banned on kindle and now I have to know why and p.s. the author @krisreneeauthor was amazing to see in person. 2 are from a series that is both heartfelt and heartbreaking @sarahforesterdavis. 1 was sold out on day one so obviously it was so good that I had to get a copy for myself when @dl.jennings resupplied. And @dl.jennings had the most beautiful sci-fi fantasy anthology with 22 other indie authors in it. The edges and artwork inside are perfection. So of course I had to add it to the shelf!

🖤 Keres Appreciation Week Day 5! 🖤

I mean, he could just say “I love you,” but I think we can all agree, this is better.

Anyone who pre-ørders a signed copy after tomorrow (the 29th) may not receive their books until mid September. So if you need it (and let's be honest we all need it) on or right after September 4th pre-ørder nøw!!

Pre-ørdëring through other sites won't be affected, this is only for signed copies through my site that I fulfill personally.

🖤🖤 Keres Appreciation Week Day 2! 🖤🖤

He’s definitely a 10. No! He’s more like a 100. I know it’s hard to wait until Sept 4th, but you need Keres in your life!

Blackwarden is a Beauty and the Beast meets Dorian Gray Romantasy with a touch of Hunger Games. There’s gothic vibes, a sentient mansion, and all the yearning you could want.

Come to the Gatehouse. Keres is waiting.

I went to the signing event for Hannah Whitten at the Barnes & Noble on Fairlawn tonight with the bestie @hupp_into_reading. It was such a down to earth conversation with both Hannah Whitten and Genevieve Gornichec. I’ve never been so close to an author during a panel before and it was awesome! The both of them vibed off each other and I loved every moment of it! I can’t wait for future books and to hopefully see the both of them again in the future!

Such an exciting day! I got to meet and have my books signed by Mai Corland, Jade Presley, and Melissa Landers. It was especially exciting since this was the release week of the final installment of Five Broken Blades, so now I have that copy signed as well. Also, got to talk to Mai’s partner again about their two hour drive to Ohio instead of their nine hour drive last time for Big Ohio Book Con. He is such a good book husband! And all three ladies were amazing and beautiful and I loved hearing them talk about their books and how they create their stories. Can’t wait to see them again when the sequels come out!

So my bestie @hupp_into_reading was telling me about how there was this new romantasy subscription box, that had sprayed edges. I already have a subscription box to Fairyloot, but how could I turn down a subscription box that has all of my favorite things (romantasy & beautiful edges)? I couldn’t! I have poor shelf control…
