Thanks again to all of our brilliant dance makers and dancers who brought their skill and artistry to the McCallum Stage last weekend for our 26th Palm Desert Choreography Festival. We’ll be sharing photos in a number of posts here on Insta. For full Festival album go to our FB page. Thanks to Helgi Tomasson, our Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient, to Vitor Luis who presented the Lifetime Award, our generous underwriters, our esteemed judges, our workshop attendees, and our warm and generous audience members. Our Grand Prize winners Saturday were Arthur Bernard-Bazin and Candelaria Antelo/HURyCAN from Madrid, Spain for their choreography Te odiero performed by Arthur Bernard-Bazin and Loredana Gargano. Second Place was awarded to Joshua Manculich for The Rate in Which I Am beautifully performed by WhirlWind Dance from Columbus, OH. Sunday’s Grand Prize was awarded to Keithan Haver/Broadway Dance Theatre from Green Brook, NJ whose dancers convincingly brought life to My Way. The Second Place Award was awarded to two different choreographers after a perfect tie: Gunta Liepina-Miller for Family Portrait performed by Premier Youth Dance Company from Tustin, CA and Jacob Gutiérrez-Montoya for My Healing performed by students with Hawkins School of Performing Arts from Folsom, CA. Performance photos by Jingzi Zhao and pre- and post-show photos by Adrien Padilla #palmdesertchoreographyfestival #mccallumtheatre #dance #choreography
