HybridWTR has become an essential part of my race preparation, not just for the Chicago Marathon, but for every race I compete in.

I use it before, during, and after training sessions, and I’ve noticed a real difference in how I recover. The tart cherry extract has been a particular highlight for me, as I’ve found it helpful for improving my sleep.

Beyond the performance and recovery benefits, it tastes great, making it something I genuinely enjoy incorporating into my daily routine.

As an athlete, I’m always looking for ways to optimize my preparation, recovery, and performance, and HybridWTR has become a key part of that process. 💪🏽

🇿🇦 ADRIAAN WILDSCHUTT MAKES MARATHON DEBUT IN CHICAGO

Adriaan Wildschutt opened his marathon career with a 2:11:23 finish at the Chicago Marathon.

The South African was on national record pace at halfway, passing the mark in 1:02:32, but unfortunately faced a difficult second half of the race.

His brother, Nadeel Wildschutt, passed halfway in 1:03:41 and was on personal-best pace before being unable to finish the race.

It was a brave attempt by both brothers, who unfortunately fell short of their goals but gained valuable experience in their marathon journeys.

Adriaan Wildschutt Set for Marathon Debut at Chicago

South African Olympian and multiple national record holder Adriaan Wildschutt will make his marathon debut at the Chicago Marathon on Sunday, 11 October 2026.

Wildschutt has established himself as one of South Africa’s leading distance runners and has achieved a feat no other South African has accomplished — he is the first and only South African to break both the 13-minute barrier for 5000m and the 27-minute barrier for 10,000m.The multiple South African record holder owns national records of 7:32 for 3000m, 12:55 for 5000m and 26:50 for 10,000m, while also boasting an impressive 59:13 half-marathon personal best.

Those performances underline the enormous potential Wildschutt brings to the marathon. His personal bests suggest that the South African marathon record of 2:05:36, held by Elroy Gelant, could potentially come into consideration, although Wildschutt himself is approaching his debut without placing a specific time target on the race.

“I feel pretty good! We are tapering now, so the body is still absorbing all the work we have been doing,” Wildschutt said.

“I would say the preparation has gone very well. It was challenging, of course, to run as many miles as we did, with this being my first time. A few niggles popped up during the build, but nothing that kept me from training. So, all good!”

“I have learned that the most important thing is to stay healthy and take care of your body, especially when you run so many miles and constant longer efforts. Nutrition was very important for us, before, during and after training. We have done a great job in that as well,” he explained.

“I have learned to run longer than I have ever had, so that is a good thing.”

Despite his impressive credentials on the track and over the half marathon, Wildschutt is keeping his expectations measured for his first attempt at 42.2km.

“Right now, I just want to be able to finish my first marathon. I have no idea how my training will translate and how those last 7–10km will go, as that will probably determine how well I will do,” he said.

“But super excited, nonetheless! Definitely believe in my training.”

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to @hybridwtr!! Today is their one-year anniversary!!

To celebrate, they are offering a buy-2-get-1-free deal on any products or any 1 unit for $26.50 (in honor of co-owner Adrian Wildschutt’s 10k time at the Paris Olympic Games). Hybrid WTR is built by athletes and backed by science. Their rehydration formula contains Tart Cherry Extract, Magnesium Glycinate, L-Glutamine, and an electrolyte blend that includes Pink Himalayan Salt and Potassium Chloride.

Never heard of Chart Terry Extract? It’s rich in anthocyanins and polyphenols that reduce oxidative stress and inflammation post-exercise. And did you know that the market leader in this space doesn’t even contain any at all? One serving of Hybrid WTR contains the equivalent of 120 whole cherries!

Hybrid WTR will be out on the course at TMP on December 12 and available to everyone!! Get some today and practice with it before the big day.
