QUEENS : Lady Day Camp (Part 1) 🧘🏾‍♀️ Yoga with Queen Jackie @jayfuhlo 🎨 Art with Queen Aiesha @i.eshalive @palette.emoji 📣 Cheer with Queen Emoni @coachemoni @noirebuttafly 👩🏾‍🔬 Science with Queen Natasha @urbangreensclt 🖤 Venue Provided by @blkcanvasstudio 🍕 Lunch Provided by The Jackson Family @billjacksonsf Saturday, August 26, 2023, I hosted a QUEENS: Lady Day Camp for 20 of my former DC students. The purpose of this Day Camp is to expose, motivate, and empower youth through educational activities, mentorship, community projects, and entrepreneurship to reach their dreams! It is important to serve our youth as they go through challenging life transitions, including stressful changes at home, transitioning into adulthood, etc. This camp was specifically lead by black female educators in DC and this will flourish over time. My ultimate goal is to evolve this into a generational mentorship program for youth of all ages. Close, healthy, supportive relationships between mentors and mentees that last for a significant portion of time are essential to success. Knowledge is power and I believe I was born to teach and cultivate young minds into strong leaders and respectful civilians. This is just another continuation of what that looks like for Brooks.Education 🍎 Do you desire to sponsor a student for the next Day Camp? DM me and I’ll send you the Google Form. Thank you for the perpetual support and encouragement. 🤍 -Bri
