Sondern darum, was es in uns bewegt. This one is very close to my heart. I was a founder myself. And I remember what it feels like when the company starts growing faster than you do. More people. More money. More responsibility. Bigger decisions. Everyone looking at you, while you are still learning how to lead the thing you created.  I deeply believe that a company can only become as big as you are willing to become yourself. And I dont mean becoming a better fundraising machine or learning another management framework. You have to grow as a leader and as a human being. Learn to carry responsibility without letting it consume you. Stay healthy. Stay sane. Keep your body strong, your mind clear, and your soul intact. Know when to push and when to stop. Learn to listen. Learn to let go. Learn yourself.  Because somewhere between product-market fit, the next financing round, hiring, firing, board meetings, customers, and the next crisis, a human being is still carrying all of it.  I wish I had had a place for this when we were growing. So we are creating one together.  This November, Boris Bolz and I are bringing eight founders from the Robin Capital family together for Robin x Boris at I-am-Escape, a three-day retreat in the Austrian mountains, hosted together with Bernhard Schluga at his beautiful I Am Escape farm in Carinthia.  The three of us are building this together. No conference. No pitching. No networking theatre. Just a small group of founders, away from the noise, with the space to think, reflect, learn from each other, and work on the person behind the company. Not because three days in the mountains magically make you a better founder. But because sometimes you need to get out of the machine to see the machine. And yourself in it.  For me, supporting founders should also mean this. Capital matters. Introductions matter. Hiring, customers, and the next round matter. But so does the person who has to wake up every morning and carry the responsibility.  Our first eight founders come together in November. I cannot wait.  Thank you, Boris and Bernhard, for building this together with me. Take care of the company and the people. And don’t forget to take care of yourself.

Everyone talks about Vienna, Salzburg and Innsbruck, but they should be talking about Carinthia. Carinthia is Austria’s southernmost province and shares a border with Italy and Slovenia. It has a Mediterranean microclimate which means warm, sunny summers and snowy winters. Beautiful lakes that give Lake Como a run for the money (and at a fraction of the price), tall peaks for hiking in the summer and skiing in the winter, 5-star family-owned resorts, castles, historic towns, artisans, and amazing food. More to come on this amazing destination, but hit me up so I can better sing its praises. #visitcarinthia #visitaustria, #carinthia #eacapeartiststravel

In August I (@purposefulliberation) was invited to cook as part of our wonderful female chefs collective Apricus Kitchen for the amazing @kathrin_schluga and her Yoga Retreat “Wild Roots Blossom” in her beautiful home and family project @i_amescape in remote Kärnten, Austria 🌲🇦🇹 Along with me and a car load full of fresh, seasonal and mostly regional produce (also from the beautiful @gulitzfarm) I brought the sweet @yoga.kulinarik along for the journey 👩🏽‍🍳 Together - me and Selina, we created dishes for a small intimate group that was guided by Kathrin not only through Yoga sessions but through a deep internal and psychotherapy-based process 🫟 Feeling blessed to not only have been so warmly welcomed into these lush surroundings but also to have witnessed Kathrin’s work…and to sit down together at the end of each day, sharing meals, stories and little glimpses into each other’s lives 🕯️ There is something really special about cooking in spaces like these. Where food doesn’t just nourish in between the “actual” work but becomes part of the experience itself ✨
