Dua Qubool: YouTube Release

I am delighted to announce that my first feature film 'Dua Qubool' will be premiering on YouTube on 29 January 2026 and will be available to watch at your convenience thereafter.

The film is currently streaming on Hungama OTT.

The film features the legendary actress Farida Jalal in a meaty role as Mahjabeen and young and talented actor Akshay Poptani as her errant and aberrant grandson Dua;

The film has a strong supporting cast of:
Manohar 'Mohabbat' Iyer as an exalted 'faqir', a sufi shair and child artiste Armaan Malik as his grandson;

Ana Ilmi as the guardian angel in the loveless life of Dua, as his sheet anchor, alter ego and soulmate;

Nitin Anand as Dua's good for nothing and irresponsible, alcoholic 'abbu';

Sayyed Mohd Iqbal as Dua's 'mamu', notorious for his nefarious activities and unscrupulous ways of life;

Nityanand as the unflinchingly loyal auto driver of Mahjabeen;

Gourrav Kumar, Prateek Gupta and Naresh Kotwal as three small time goons and fairweather friends of Dua.

Kindly Like, Comment, Share and Subscribe to my movie channel aaRDee Moving Images

Thank You

'Dua Qubool' a Muslim Social!

Right from the time I conceived 'Dua Qubool' till it's completion, I was bombarded with just one question by friends and well wishers who by name are Hindus and Muslims: 'You being a staunch Hindu, Iyer Brahmin, a strict vegetarian etc etc, how come you made a Muslim Social?'
.
मेरी हर बात मेरे दिल से ही निकलती है. I replied:
Just as India is a mosaic of diverse states and languages, yet we are all Indians at heart, my film 'Dua Qubool' too is beyond its label as a 'Muslim social'. The emotions underlying the film like love, longing and loss, hope and despair are universal, cutting across and going beyond communal lines.
.
Emotions have no labels, no tags, no borders and, more importantly, no religion. We're all human beings with the same emotions and feelings, just like our secular nation with diverse yet harmonious identities.
.
Now you decide if 'Dua Qubool' is a Muslim Social!

*Premonition Proves Prophetic*
.
*DUA QUBOOL on HUNGAMA*

'Dua Qubool' appears to be more than just a film. In a fascinating twist of taqdeer, it appears to be a testament to the power of premonition.
.
In the film, I play the role of an exalted Sufi Shair with precognitive abilities and it seems I have blurred the lines between the reel and real life.
.
In April 2025, I declared that my film would be released on my 70th landmark birthday, 14 August, 2025, on YouTube, without any hulla gulla or 'hungama'.
.
Ironically, destiny had other plans and now, thanks to my dear friend Suresh Thomas, Crescendo Music & Films, 'Dua Qubool' is set to premiere on Hungama OTT on the SAME DAY. It's as if my reel character's precognitive abilities have seeped into reality, validating my premonitions and leaving me pondering and wondering: was it the mysterious ways of destiny or just a curious case of synchronicity?
.
To quote my iconic line from the film: '
(We don't know what the future holds, nor do we speak of it... We don't speak of our own accord or desire; we only say what Allah inspires us to say, out of His benevolence.)
.
Truly, there surely was divine guidance and inspiration behind what I declared!
.
There can't be a better birthday gift 🎁📽️

PS: *'Dua Qubool'* has been *OFFICIALLY SELECTED* at the prestigious *JAGRAN FILM FESTIVAL* for screening in 14 major cities.
