For one beautiful afternoon in July the park named in honor of Rebecca Howard became exactly what so many of us have envisioned - a vibrant cultural gathering place where people felt welcomed, inspired, and connected. Books were shared, stories were told, new friendships were formed and generations came together to celebrate the richness of Black heritage in Olympia and throughout Thurston County at Read the Park 2026.
